I own 2 Roomian basses - a "stock" 4-string and a custom 5-string. They are superb instruments. The 4-string is versatile - the sound can range from mellow bass to razor treble. There are 2 Bartolini pick-ups in a J-bass configuration. It's a great bass for an r&b gig where one needs a wide range of tones. The 5-string is a sweet sounding instrument. It has one Bartolini pick-up. I have had recording engineers comment that it is a sweet-sounding instrument that is wonder to record. The necks on both instruments are similar -- and they play very well. Doug Roomian is a master craftsman.

Doug is a master! Just calling him a luthier is doing a disservice to his skills. Not only can he repair that messed up gear you have, but he can make you one just the way you want it with all the little tricked out things you've always wanted. If you want it fancy, you can have it that way. If you want it plain and simple - you can have it that way. I have personally seen his work on such instruments as a broken Martin neck, an Aria 12 string that he worked wonders with and a couple of other instruments that he touched and brought back to life. He can do anything you want him to do. If you are on the cheap, he might be able to work with you. Give him a shot. I wouldn't go anywhere else with my repairs. He will make my next guitar. I won't accept any other.
