Elizabeth was gorgeous and hooked up with Burton in movies and plays she was at her very best. She should be in the top 5.

To me, Elizabeth Taylor was the most beautiful actress of her time. All the movies that she's been in are very likable and her performance was good. Even as a little child I knew who she was - her and Marilyn Monroe probably are the most recognizable faces anywhere you go.

Back in the day the woman was untouchable! No one, and I do mean NO ONE, had the combination of beauty and acting chops. "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof" remains my favorite Liz moment. The chemistry between her and Paul Newman was incredible. Time and circumstance may have diminshed her in some folks eyes, but she'll always be the epitome of a Hollywood starlet. God bless you, Liz.

Didn't know she was still alive!

More a celebrity than actress.Is/was talented. Can do without her prechiness regarding AIDS.
Theoden 02/02/2006
Vastly overrated wooden "actress". "Butterfield 8" is worse than any soap opera, and she only makes it more awful. She gets an Oscar for "Who's Afraid of...." because she isn't acting. Strictly a product of Hollywood's twisted imagination.

One of the greatest screen legends of all time. Superb actress and quite a beauty in her day. Incredible how someone has lasted this long in this cut throat business called show business. What a remarkable and talented woman.

Shes just another drunk celeb.

Absolutely the most beautiful woman to ever grace this planet. And very sexy. Was underrated as an actress, but pulled in many fine performances. She's in her 70's now, but still has that magic. She's had many tough battles, but pulled through. Hope she lives many more years! Bravo, Elizabeth!

With the passage of the years, she's sort of allowed herself to degenerate into a parody of her former self, but in her prime, there was nobody as sexy as she was, and that includes Marilyn Monroe. Taylor was SMOKING hot and I, for one, can't think of anyone who can beat her on that score, then or now. Plus, at her best, she was a fairly decent actress.

Lousy actress who won her first Oscar for NOT dying in the London in 1961, and her second for playing her loud, vulgar blousy self in Virginia Woolfe. She was beautiful when she was young but now resembles a fat old Christmas tree fairy. She never had any class or taste and even with all those diamonds she still looked like a walking Woolworths.

Earth calling Liz. Come back to earth. You are way out there.

from a purely sexist shallow point of view....was once a five but age hasn't been kind....look at an old picture of her and tell me you wouldn't lick that porcelain bod all over

One of the few real legends, from the day. A natural and great beauty - when everything could not be fixed. Big talent. Few can compare to her beauty even with all the surgery today. Who cares how many husbands she had. We all have different roads to follow. Hers was always meant to be different.

Liz, you were the sh*t baby. Saw a doco on Cleopatra the other day, and I just cannot believe how scrumptious you looked. And you can act. You're in an echelon of your own. A true survivor and one of the few Holywood stars still left, you knew how to live life to the full.

Elizabeth is one of the greatest actresses ever. She was terrific in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and other movies. She is also so beautiful. She has amazing eyes and is a true, legendary beauty. Even though she is much older now, she still is absolutely gorgeous. As she gets only, she still has that magic, that aura. about her. But she's not just an amazingly beautiful woman, she is also a very talented actress and a great humanitarian, having conducted many charity events for AIDS. She is one of the true legends left in the world.

Just great is all I can say

Elizabeth taylor has done some great work such as Whose Afraid of Virginia Wolf. I can see why she won the oscar for this one she really showed some raw emotion in this one and was not afraid to allow herself to look less attractive.{hard for her considering she is beautiful}.I liked her in National Velvet when she was just a little girl. She has done some other good roles as well. A couple of her movies I thought were over the top. She sure has had an interesting personal life.with her marriages,.but I have a real respect for her she is a survivor that's for sure.

Elizabeth the great - why is she so far down on this list? Miss Taylor was in some classic and marvelous films. My favorite was Butterfield 8. She has great talent and was always beautiful. She still does good work for AIDS and other charities. A real movie star.

What does she do? Has she been in a film in the last 30 years? What is the big deal about this make-up queen?
cjs13 05/11/2003
she had so many great roles people forget that noibody was better in the disturbed woman role. and what a beauty, voulptous he r pic is in the dictionary, still a classic beauty. still has that certain sexiness

Elizabeth is a legend and has done marvelous films. Don't understand why she isn't near or at the top of this list. She was at her best in Butterfield 8 and Cleopatra. What a great actress and beautiful face. Saw her in a play with Richard Burton in Los Angeles and it was spell-binding to see those two together. Also love the movie Virginia Woolf. Liz is great.
MooCowMoo 11/19/2002
Quality, classic, once-beautiful actress who has become a parody of herself over the years. She was once a thing of beauty - now she's scary as hell; she once had respect - now she's a joke; she once had talent - now she is partnered with Richard Burton as 2 of the moost notorious over-actors of the 60's. Her association with dubious characters(Michael Jackson) and gutter journalism adds moore tarnish to this fallen star's mantle. Liz, time to start growing old gracefully.
CastleBee 08/27/2002
One of the few times great beauty met great talent. She was splendid in "Giant", showed extreme versatility in "Butterfield 8", stunning in "Cleopatra" and continues to blow me away each time I have the strength to sit through "Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf". On the private level you have to give her some credit - she seems to have a big heart and puts a lot of effort into trying to help people. If she just wouldn't come off with that Oprah-esque goddess/guru to the entire world attitude. Nice of you to help Liz but with your screwed up personal history I'm afraid we can only get so serious about your less than qualified advice on life. Squirt of perfume anyone?
r_mitchell 08/27/2002
Elizabeth should be rated by her acting not her personal life. So with that in mind you really have to see her when she's a young actress. So beautiful and really the type of woman anyone could fall in love with. Watch her old movies for yourself and you'll see what I mean.

Sorry, never got why ET was so great.

Before I saw "Who's affreid of Virginia Voolf" I din't count Elizabeth Taylor so talent, but in this film I saw a real beautiful actress.
audrie 10/01/2001
an amazing actress, every character she has played has been convincing...as a glamourous on screen she was in some film, others she played not afraid to look slightly rough, she plays her scenes with real anger, tears, laughter no fake about her at all...she has no comparisons today.

I am old enough to remember her marvelous performances, giant, elephant walk, cleopatra, etc.

"I DON'T KNOW WHERE I AM" -Elizabeth Taylor
Johnny Roulette 02/17/2001
I'm not a huge Taylor fan, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone give better performances than did Taylor & Richard Burton in Who's Afraid Of Virginia Wool?. That may be the only perfect movie ever made.
SamIAm 01/25/2001
Hmmmm, when I think of Elizabeth Taylor, I think of Enquirer headlines, her abundance of husbands, big hair and her yo-yo weight. I don't even know if I have ever seen her in a film?! How can that be? The only thing I can think of is her as Helena Cassadine on General Hospital and as Wilma's mother in the "Flinstones." That is not saying much. I guess I should rent one of her movies and then come back and give a more informed rating.
Taleah Wright 01/22/2001
One of the most beautiful young actresses that ever was. Very talented. She certainly should be recognized on your list. She was one of Hollywood's glamour queens and left us entertained with years on her scandalous love life.
