Cincinnati aka TRASHinati is such a piece of garbage! I f##king HATE this piece of sh#t town. The locals are all a bunch of trashy bitches and ghetto trash idiots.Ignorance, rudeness, and being a dumb a#s is the theme of this hell hole..DON'T EVER MOVE HERE..You WILL NOT have one good memory. Cincinnati(Trashinati) is a dirty ghetto ass ,backwards, disgusting sh#t hole with NO JOBS (and this was before the economy went bad) Living here is like living in Satan's ass. The streets of Baghdad would probably be better than being here..Cincinnati(Trashinati) can burn..

There's a lot going on in Cincinnati.  The Banks is finally being developed, Fountain Square has been redone and dozens of new restaurants have opened up Downtown.  Lots of development going on in Over-The-Rhine, though I wouldn't exactly call it a tourist destination. Crime has been steadily declining there and across the inner city over the past several years.  Lots of great neighborhoods - Hyde Park, Clifton, Mount Lookout, Northside, Mount Adams, O'Bryonville, Covington, Newport.  Great views, plenty to do. Tons of parkland which seems to be overlooked by even the residents.  Even the favorite pasttime of bashing the city seems to be on the wane.  A treasure trove of older, intact neighborhoods that most big cities would die to have.  Not a tourist hot spot by any means, but an easy place to live.  The University of Cincinnati is a "museum" of works by famous architects.  And if you're into that see Zaha Hadid's design for The Contemporary Art Center, Downtown.   Oh, and unlike Detroit, the City of Cincinnati's population is growing.

Cincinnati is trying really hard to descend to the level of Detroit. The Ohio River is pleasant but the city itself is a giant slum, excepting the stadium district and university campus.

downtown Cincinnat was down for several years after the race riots of 01 (which were completely exaggerated on national tv btw). the core has been rebuilt and there is SO much to do downtown today. as a university of cincinnati student i was thrilled to see the nightlife take off at the same time i moved to town in 05-06. very underrated city, absolutely gorgious, safe and clean, friendly people, lots of fun. come check us out!

Cinti lacks distinctive character & imagination. Racial relations poor. Urban sprawl badly managed. Overspent on underutilized f'ball stadium. Traffic bad & getting worse. Bright spot is symphony orchestra.

I have been to Cincy twice and I thought the buldings downtown looked a bit old and rundown...Although Kings Island was fun there isn't much else to do here if your not a baseball fan. Compared to Louisville's 1.3 Million people Cincinnati is DEFINATLY not the biggest city on the banks of the Ohio River, But still an OKAY city.

Cincinnati is awesome. I am a white girl from Kentucky with a thick accent. I am a professional. I moved into an apartment in Westwood and loved it. I walked downtown on Vine, Over the Rhine, Wade st., everywhere I went I was treated with respect and kindness. Living in Cincy was a cultural change for the better with lots of entertainment. Cincinnati men are the sexiest.

I avoid down town whenever possible...talk about a bad city to drive in, whew. The outer edges however are much better. Hotels and resteraunts are reasonable and there is Kings Island of course for amusement park buffs. There are lots of outlet malls in the area for the shoppers!

Just stayed for a day and overall an average city. OK, I can admit after a cost cutting transportation of walking 24 miles exploring the city, I would not go again as some of the section of the city are run down and dirty. I did ask for directions and saw that the blacks are rude and just say no when I ask politely. Notice that the sidewalks are dangerous- the pedestrian light flashes when the traffic semaphore is yellow and stop when it is red- immediately, the opposing traffic's light is green. Downtown looks OK in most places, & the stadiums and arenas are classy. UCincinnati looks somewhat like a park but does not live to the hype of such state owned schools that look gorgeous when it comes to the neighborhoods and college atmosphere. The Museum/Amtrak Station is the best thing you can find in the city, but I guess it was a good reason that the Amtrak train, the Cardinal, does not go there daily as the city is a bit shanty. The Museum itself is a darling one with many things up to date. The riverwalk was fabulous to look at as Covington and Newport KY are appealing. If you are thinking of living there go to the suburbs in KY or the nice hillsides east of I-71 because Cincy itself is steadily declining in living. It doesn't totally suck, but do keep in mind what many bad things you will expect there.

Never again. Lived here for one year, and was glad to flee to a smaller town in Michigan, where the locals are far nicer and less racist. I have family that live here, and this city has perversed them. My cousin is brown-skinned and he tells me he's white. My aunt is an arrogant yuppie who spares no expense in showing off. Every time I go back to Cincinnati, I see nothing has changed. This was the first city I moved to in the US from the West Indies, and it wasn't a good first impression. I had previously visited New York City and liked it. However, something is wrong with this place; avoid it.

My wife and I decided to take a day trip to Cincy. It was our first official visit even though we have passed the city on numerous times on our road trips. We were so excited to come to Cincy based on their Visitor's Guide and things to do, sounds like a great city to visit. We were quite disappointed with Downtown, kind of a run down area. It seems to be neglected. We have been to hundreds of America's cities, Downtown Cincy probably ranks lower middle ratings of all cities we have visited (New England, New York, Mid Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, California, and Northwest plus Alaska). Cincy needs to upgrade Fountain Square to it's grand old form. We decided to drive around Cincy and Over the Rhine area was pretty scary to look at... boarded up buildings, broken windows, gangs, run down places. We had high anticipation for Mt. Adams, but was disappointed when we only saw 1 true shop. We kind of expect a main street with shops, guess it was overrated in brochures. Though, Cincy has great choices of restaurants... that is credit to be given. If they can somehow improve Downtown, make it hippiest then it will grow better. Cincy is the worst city with potholes, WOW, it was amazing to see how we were in for a roller coaster ride hitting all these potholes. It was really terrible, the city needs to really focus on this as a part of quality of life. We did enjoy Newport on the Levee, it is a cute area and wished it had more shops... but definitely an investment to work on to make it better. The ballpark and stadium looks pretty though I have never been to a Reds or Bengals game, but I would like to do so. Comparing Cincy to nearby cities... Indianapolis, Louisville, Lexington, Columbus, and Nashville... Cincy is probably near the bottom. The reason I said that is because of quality of life being presented (potholes, run down areas, etc.) You don't want run down areas near tourist attractions, that needs to be improved. I can see where Downtown Cincy can be a hot spot if it was being focused and spruced up. Newport on Levee needs to expand and take advantage of being the hottest spot on the other side of the river. If Cincy can somehow blend flavors from nearby cities mentioned above, I think Cincy can come back from a long way. Use the downtown setting of Indianapolis, restaurant selection and shops of the Highlands in Louisville, nightlife district of Nashville and upgrade Mt. Adams like Broad Ripple in Indy or the Highlands in Lou... You can see that Cincy has potential but has a long way to go. Looking forward to a much improved Cincy in the future.

The biggest racists live there. Residentially segregated, racial profiling, and unequal opportunity. They think they still live in the 1930's for God sakes!

Perhaps the greatest thing about Cincinnati, is it's proximity to some of the greatest events and tradition in American culture. Cincinnati is within two hours of the Indianapolis 500, The Brickyard 400, The Kentucky Derby, The Dayton Air Show, The Maddison Regatta, Buckeye Football, UK Basketball. Cincinnati has great baseball, constant summer festivals thanks to strong German heritage, and the WEBN Fireworks Labor Day Weekend. When you move away from Cincinnati you miss the river the most, and the lights of the city dancing off the water on a hot summer night while drinking a Margarita from Don Pablo's patio, a Beer from The Boathouse, or strolling along Newport's reinvigorated waterfront. Bob Hope best said it years ago, If there's ever a Nuclear War, go to Cincinnati, they're 5 years behind the rest of the country. The conservatism and resistance to change will drive you mad at times, most notably being the WORST road, and road improvement planners in the country. If you travel, you see the other cities doing things much better. From the cut in the hill, the 22nd worst bottleneck in the country, where 75/71 splits at the end of the bridge, creating chaos every morning, from confused drivers to semi's doing 35 in the fast lane. As others have commented Cincy drivers rate only ahead of Canadians for the worst drivers. Dyslexia reigns, you do have to pass on the right, because they all drive down the left lane I pay my taxes I'll drive where I want. There are countless 2-lane paved over cowpaths that should have been 5 or 6 lanes 10-15 years ago, yet they're stil quabbling with the locals that would rather waste 1/2 hr. in traffic, then lose 20 ft. of yard or deal with more traffic flow. In Cincinnati, when they ask what school you went to, they're talking about HIGH SCHOOL, which is pathetic, and after 25 years here, still can't believe it. They put way too much weight into high school football, and not enough into college. If you're a New Englander, you'll like Hyde Park, Mt. Lookout, Mt. Adams more, if you're a Southerner, you'll like Northern KY more. Much friendlier and down to earth. When visiting Cincinnati, best ribs, Montgomery Inn, best burger/chili- Zips in Mt. Lookout, Ice Cream- UDF Chocoloate Chip, and anything Graeter's Best Views-Devou Park in Park Hills, KY, Celestial-Mt. Adams- Mt. Echo, Eden Park. Loveland Bike Trail is great for exercise. There's better places to be, and far worse.

Cincinnati is very clean, even the so-called bad areas of Cincinnati are quite clean. Cincinnati is famous for its excellent sweet chili. Parts of Downtown Cincinnati despite being clean and friendly are very unsafe. Cincinanti has many budget motels on the far north side along Intertstate 71. All and all, Cincinnati is a very mediocre city with little to write home about. One last thing, Cincinnati is likely the slowest paced city of its size in America. People in stores and resturants are very, very slow in this city.

I can only rate Cincinnati as a tourist, but I think it's wonderful. A great baseball town, a great place to eat chili and a great place to drink beer. The zoo is among the best. There are nice restaurants on the riverboats on the Kentucky side of the river.

I enjoyed Cincinnati alot. It seemed like a smaller Midwestern city with an east-coast feel - that was a pleasant surprise. High poverty rate - but that adds to its realistic feel. Downtown kind of shuts down at night, but there are places to go in Newport and Norwood (both suburbs).

According to the just-released Zagat Survey of more than 11,000 travelers across the United States, the greater Cincinnati area offers a suprising number of top-ranked national attractions. Topping the list of malls and shopping centers was Newport on the Levee. The Cincinnati Art Museum tied for first place with four other museums (including the prestigious Metropolitan in NYC) for best art museum in the survey, which emphasizes family-friendliness. Paramount's Kings Island was ranked the second-best amusement park. Also, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens tied for second with four other American zoos. Great American Ball Park, the new home of the Cincinnati Reds, tied with three ballparks for second place. The Newport Aquarium tied for second-best aquarium with two others. Those who visit Cincinnati for its club scene might be disappointed, but those who like quiet, suburban life can find many excellent and afforable communities for raising a family. Compared to other large metropolitan areas (Greater Cincinnati has 2 million residents), the crime rate is lower than the norm. Popular homegrown eateries include Graeters Ice Cream, Montgomery Inn Ribs, Skyline Chili, LaRosas Pizzeria and Deweys Pizzeria.

Progressively backward city. Only 2 major sports teams and they both are bad. Traffic is a mess; needs light rail system or a diamond lane at the least. There is no nightlife downtown. Latest reputation is on racial divide in the city. Currently a city going down for the count.

Here is a list (and just a preliminary one) of why Cincinnati is the most screwed up ridiculous place and why I thank the lord every night that I only have ONE WEEK LEFT! -Hyde Park and everything it represents -Chili(has chocolate and death in it) -Obsession with zip codes -Obsession with where people went to High School -East Side/West Side rivalry - WHO CARES! -Lack of diverse thought -Lack of personality -Saying please? instead of what? or excuse me? -Bad 80's hair -Bad 80's fashion -80% gray gloomy weather -Hyde Park again -Close minded natives -Homophobes everywhere -Racists everywhere -People can't figure out four way stop intersections -People pass in the right lane on the highway -People drive under the speed limit in the left lane -Waiters/Waitresses can't figure out to bring the check once people have finished eating -Downtown is dead -People are scared of downtown -No sense of humor -Attitude in Mt. Adams (see Hyde Park references) -General unhappiness of its residents -Very scary place for non-natives to live, socialize and work I could go on, but I have wasted more time in and on CIncinnati than I care to admit

Before I moved to Ohio, I used to think that this was a big racist city called Cincinnasty. So a couple of cops might have killed a few criminals in a area with hard crime. Aside from this, Cincy is an awesome city. I love the landscape and prewar archetiture there.
