Finally an item that's easy to rate. It's certainly no more than a 1 as concerns being important. And yes, she should at least be assessed the cost of the efforts to find her. I think a criminal charge is also in order since she falsely claimed to have been both kidnapped and raped. I don't care if she only gets a suspended sentence and probation but the point needs to be made.

An extremely insignificant issue for everyone but about 625 inconvenienced individuals, most of whom care deeply about her, her family or that of her fiance. This story cannot fade from the headlines fast enough for me. I empathize with this girl and all those involved. She probably handled a couple of things very poorly but it truly did not have any effect on my life. Imagine the joy on everyone's faces when she starts down the aisle, finally.

I'm guessing you mean legally; I guess they should address her making a false claim of kidnapping, but that's about it. It's mostly a personal thing, though. I don't think it's all that important of an issue. UPDATE: Yeah, I find the reactions to be pretty fascinating (especially from those who were previously damning the groom-to-be and calling him a murderer before she surfaced. With other current missing women cases, I can see where they'd jump to that conclusion, but that must've sucked for the guy) Seems like the majority of people who expressed their thoughts online feel that there should be some monetary recompensation somewhere. Guess that's gonna have to be up to the town to decide; seems like it's been done before in previous faked-kidnapping cases. Thankfully, no one's dead or hurt (well, not physically hurt, at least).

Actually I meant either legally or financially. I'm not thinking it's going to be possible to punish her legally, nobody actually acted on her false claim, as far as I know. I do think that she should be made to pay back at least some of the money that was spent searching for her. To get cold feet or to decide you need time to yourself is all well and good, but to leave in the manner she did, and to make an attempt NOT to be recognized, that makes this something else indeed. Not an important issue, true, I just wanted people's opinion.
