 | irishgit (146) 02/02/2007 | A party with a record of a stunning lack of electoral success at every level of politics, they have never elected a member at either the provincial or federal levels of Canadian politics; a record which doesn't look likely to change soon.
Their main problem is that most of their environmental viewpoints are adequately represented (as far as most voters are concerned) in one of the other four parties represented in parliament. Their secondary problem is that most of their "non-environmental" ideas are shadowy, second-hand reflections of one or more of the other parties.
Lacking effective leadership, and apparently having little taste for the rough and tumble of realpolitik, their future isn't bright.

 | Drummond (58) 01/04/2006 | Well, if the Canadian GP is anything like the GP in other countries, they don't run on "one issue." The "Green" means more than simply environmental concepts. It's seen as an alternative to political movements that have employed the colors blue, yellow, red, and black for various symbolisms. Green generally isn't chosen - it's not macho, nor effeminate. It's not intense, nor innocuous. It refers to grassroots politics in general.
