 | illusionbuster (7) 01/14/2007 | Trying to look at C.S.Lewis in an objective way may be a difficult challenge for some, Lewis seems to have a great influence over his fans. Lewis was an intelligent, imaginative, talented writer. When you combine these two together, spiritually and talent, it enhances the power of persuasion considerably. The problem is that many of C.S.Lewis beliefs and writings were un Biblical and I think there's plenty of proof for this statement. It would be harmful for a Christian to build on these false view Lewis had which are contrary to the Word of God:
Lewis rejected the Bible as the infallible Word of God
Lewis denied the substitutionary blood atonement of Christ
Lewis held that the Genesis account came from pagan mythical sources
Lewis did not believe in a literal Adam & Eve, Noah's Arc, Flood etc..
Lewis said the Bible contained error
Lewis said the Book of Job is unhistorical
Lewis believed in theistic evolution
Lewis held strongly to an evolutionary animal ancestry of man.
Lewis believed in prayers for the dead.
Lewis believed in Purgatory & other Catholic doctrines
Lewis did not believe in a bodily resurrection
Lewis believed Christians can lose salvation
Lewis believed pagans can be saved without Christ
Lewis was firmly ecumenical
Try reading further information on this link, this guy makes some silly and picky comments like, Lewis smoked a pipe, cigarettes, was married to a divorced woman etc.. but try to look pass that since he has some weighty points to be made that should earn serious consideration : http://www.wayoflife.org/fbns/cslewisand.htm
This link has some good points I might not agree with all of them but still it has some useful information :http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/exposes/lewis/general.htm

 | Djahuti (57) 05/21/2005 | Lewis is perhaps my favorite Christian author. This quote is magnificent:How is it that people who are quite obviously eaten up with Pride can say they believe in God and appear to themselves very religious?I am afraid it means they are worshipping an imaginary God.They theoretically admit themselves to be nothing in the presence of this phantasm God,but are really all the time imagining how He approves of them and thinks them far better than ordinary people.-from Mere Christianity

 | cutegurl (16) 05/19/2005 | C.S. Lewis is very possibly one of the most brilliant men ever to live. He had this wonderful gift of taking very complex, lofty ideas and articulating them in a way that is tangible and easy to grasp. His use of word and language is so clear and concise that a fifth grader could read the words and understand when said words are really communicating some of the most brilliant philosophical ideas of the modern age. His writing exists on two levels, the words and the ideas. The words are beautiful, but the ideas, divine.
