06/09/2008 | Some great albums more than a few years ago- but their gloss has worn off since they were clearly on the wrong side of the file-sharing issue. . .there's something so unseemly about a talented and wealthy rock band doing everything in its power to limit the ability of fans to share music. . .

02/14/2008 | They get 5 stars from me for epitomizing the entire humourless and unimaginative genre. Nobody has done more to promote the monotonous pedal to the metal ethos of noise that stirs the loins of teen-aged boys with sheer decibel induced vibration. Good work, men.

02/14/2007 | Metallica kinda fell after the Black Album, St. Anger could have been better if they cleaned it up, sound quality wise. They are supposedly working on another one. Let's see if Metallica can bring it back, or hang it up.

02/14/2007 | Of course it's anyone's right to like a poor band. There is nothing wrong with that. But Metallica is far from being the best. VERY far.
And in the beginning, it was good, since Mister Mustaine was in there. :P And they stole his song, Mechanix.

01/01/2006 | One of the innovators in speed metal. The black album is arguable their finest work. S&M might be a travasty to some, but to me it's second to only the black album for musical quality. Metallica went out on a musical limb to prove they can still thrash regardless of if they are backed by strings, or a huge bank of power amps, speakers, and lights. St. Anger is a disappointment, almost a step backward for the group. Ditch that open snare drum, tighten up the sound again, and they could rediscover the brilliance that made the black album a huge bootprint in the genre. When it's all said and done, Metallica is an easy pick for the R&R Hall of Fame. Easily one of the most influential bands of the era, if not one of the finest bands from a pure musical standpoint. Two hands thrown way the hell up. :)

10/22/2005 | metallica are by far the greatest album of all time because they have been around for over 20 years and havn't broken up when gunns n roses which is rated hgher broke up ages ago. metallica's music is better and metallica's guitarist, bass guitarist, rhythom guitar/vocalist and drummer are all better than anyone the world has ever seen. i'm a guitarist myself and metallica's music is much more fun to play than anyone elses on the planet why? because they're the greatest band in the world
