04/19/2006 | No killing, maiming, physical or verbal abuse - HOW could it possibly be a sport? These are some of the reasons I think archery is not only a sport, but a relatively civilized one. Mainly though, it's because the competition is with yourself as much as anyone else. I tried it in high school and it was the one bright spot in a series of long, gray days of that terminal boredom known as gym class.

04/19/2006 | Probably would be more of a sport if the contestants were shooting at each other, but let's call it a sport by a nose. . .it also must score points for being a major part of ancient warfare. . .
