This band set a new standard for Rock n Roll songwriting.They were among the first popular bands to introduce sombre and dark lyrics in an era saturated with fluffy surf music.The entire band had great chemistry and all were skilled musicians,but Morrison was the one who made them stand out with his brilliant and highly literate lyric skills.
