 | lmorovan (12) 07/01/2008 | If you are interested in learning the "gospel according to Andrew Wommack", then he is the man. Unfortunately, his gospel is not in the Bible.
Update: the more I listen to this man, the most I believe he is becoming dangerous. He is so out of touch with what the Bible teaches that sometimes I wonder if he is actually preaching the Bible. Christians, beware!
Some of his latest herecies:
God has no physical body
Cats, dogs, ants have more authority than Satan
Mankind created Satan
Lucifer became Satan in the Garden of Eden
God doesn't control everything
God spoke Adam into existence
God spoke Jesus into existence
God became hostage of Satan
God is not in control over the world after He gave the authority to men
There are limits to what God can do
Satan can stop the power of God
God will not do anything against men's will
The prophecies about Jesus were implanted in mary to conceive Jesus
Miracles are conceived, carried to term and given birth by believers
All Wommack's words and teachings. 7-1-2008 - Andrew claims new born believers are in spirit identical to Jesus. This is blasphemy. What a nut!

 | JustGinny (0) 04/13/2008 | Hi, first of all I must say that I watch Andrew almost every day on TV. His teachings are, for the most part, excellent. I have received a depth of understanding in his teachings that no one else has given me. I also need to say that I watch him warily. That is, I am careful not to just blindly accept whatever he has to say. The Bereans were commended by Paul for their noble character when they searched the scriptures themselves to see that what Paul told them was so. We should do the same. Andrew is a human being and he is just as capable as the next person of being deceived. We should not make the mistake of forgetting that. Christians have idolized their teachers. That is wrong.
That being said, amongst the multitude of "teachers/preachers" out there in TV land, he stands above the crowd. I won't listen to either TBN or INSP because most of it it junk food, in my opinion.
Andrew is down to earth and plain-spoken. He doesn't espouse pie-in-the-sky ideals, rather he speaks the Word of God matter-of-factly. I like all these qualities and that's why I continue to listen to him.
Now that was the good news. Now for the bad.
There is something missing from Andrew's teachings and, for the life of me, I can't put my finger directly on it. I think it has a lot to do with his grace teachings - more specifically, his book Spirit, Soul, and Body. It seems that Andrew spends more time telling us that God loves us rather than speaking plainly about the consequences of sin. In Romans, you hear Paul speaking MUCH about sin - also much about grace; in other words Paul seems to be more balanced. Paul doesn't shy away from the "s" word; Andrew seems to, for some reason. Now when pressed, he will say that it is best for us to stay away from sin, but to me that doesn't sound right. It's a very weak statement, at best.
For the first four months that I found Andrew on TV and began listening to him (practically day and night) I did not search the scriptures myself. That was wrong. Then I began listening to the book of Romans on CD in my car every time I got in it. THAT'S when I knew there was something missing in his teaching. It's only been a few months ago that Andrew has partially corrected himself by explaining further what he means in his teaching on the grace of God. That has helped some, but not a lot. So, I think I will stick with Romans instead.
I don't think he is intentionally trying to mislead people. He has said on his programs plenty of times that he wishes he knew a better way to convey his thoughts more clearly. I think that's the problem right there. Maybe if he could explain himself more clearly in his Spirit, Soul, and Body book, I could fully embrace the teaching. But there is just something missing there that I can't make sense of from a scriptural standpoint. And if it does not make sense, I will not blindly accept it just because Andrew is right about so many other things.
And another thing is his inconsistency. This may be the same problem - he's just not explaining himself clearly, or maybe he just forgets to mention all the things he wants to say. Specifically in his current teaching "God Wants You Well", he has said that when praying for another person to be healed, that person's faith has just as much to do with actually manifesting healing as the one praying. THEN he gives an example a day or two after saying this, about how he failed this invalid in a wheelchair because of his own doubt and unbelief. He didn't mention that this man had any responsibility for receiving his healing. Andrew took total responsibility for it himself. I'm confused!
So, inconsistencies like this (there are other examples too) make it hard to fully grasp his teaching.
Whew! Now, all this being said, I do still endorse Andrew and tell others about him, hoping they will listen too, but I also warn them to listen to him while searching the bible for themselves and praying for wisdom from God. This is what we should be doing with all teachers out there. Just because someone has a bible doesn't mean they are Christian. Just because one is truly a Christian doesn't mean he/she has a true revelation from God or has discerned the word rightly. Remember the devil knows the bible too. He even quoted a scripture, out of context, to Jesus in the wilderness, tempting Him.
There are plenty of crooks out there (tares amongst wheat, wolves in sheep's clothing) and people actually send them money. It makes me angry. Angry at the crooks that are taking advantage of people (and one of these in particular is still on air) and also angry at the people themselves for being so gullible!! I have been one of those before!!! How about you?

 | uniman (0) 04/11/2008 | I was one of those Men, even though saved, that rebuked the teaching of speaking in tongues, healings, and whatever else that was inconvenient to me. I tried to watch Andrew Wommack on tv becuase my wife did. I just pushed him off as another tv preacher looking for a way to make or take money. My story starts when I retired early because of injuries at work. So I had more time on my hand and started watching him with my wife more. Then I realized that he really made sense. And believe me I searched scriptures for truths when Andrew got my attention on a subject. Now after a year or so I still am hooked on his teachings. I download his audio teachings from his website and listen to them at my pace and he is the real thing. The only way I can respond to those who call him a false teacher is the same reason "I" did in the begining, and that was because the truth was inconvenient to me. After all the years we are taught by our churches to be good and beg God constantly and maybe some of us will be healed or given our hearts desire. When it really makes sense according to scriptures that Jesus paid it "once" and for all and by his stripes we are "healed". Why do we keep asking him to forgive our sins daily when he already did! Why not believe we have authority to heal and that Satan and his imps doesn't have authority over us. This is what Andrew Wommack teaches and if it were not for scriptures I would not believe him. So when someone writes that Andrew is a false teacher please also write down the false teaching he proclaimed and give scripture to back up your claim. I like to end this by thanking My Lord and Savior for using a man like Andrew Wommack. Like Andrew said, "If you let him, the devil will eat your lunch and pop the bag!"

 | Watchman777 (0) 03/18/2008 | It is OBVIOUS to those of us who have listened intently to Andrew's teachings, WITHOUT a preconceived judgementmental attitude that those of you who wish to condem and would do so at any cost, have a totally different perspective of him. I have heard MANY hours of his teachings and admit that he does NOT fall into the "cookie cutter" doctrine of traditional interpretation of the scriptures. He takes a no nonsense stand and uses scripture to back up his interpretation. Yes, he does at times use his own life experiences as a testimony, but here again, back's it with scripture.
He does NOT adhere or condone the "name it claim it, blab it grab it" crowd as he has been accused of, quite the oppoaite. If you critics would take the time to actually LISTEN to what he says, you may find that your preconcieved opinion IS totally incorrect. I am NOT a novice and have heard MANY tel-evangilists who preach pretty much the same acceptable doctrine that "main line" ministers are taught at cemetary, I mean seminary. Does that make THEM correct? If so, then WHY so MANY divisions in the body of Christ? (denominations)
I am NOT deluded into believing that what I say to you all knowing crtitics is going to change your mind or opinion, that light must be turned on by YOU after enlightenment from the Holy Spirit. What I am hoping for is that the body of Christ will STOP being so anxious to JUDGE when we are commanded NOT to. We are supposed to be "fruit inspectors" and test the spirits. No, Andrew is NOT perfect, but which of you/us ARE? Yes, he is a teacher and because of that, is held to a higher standard and level of accountability than the rest of us, but his life and how he conducts himself is a testimony to his intent. Unlike the overwhealming majority of todays TV "preachers," he is NOT in it for the CASH. He is sincere in HIS beliefs and convictions. He is NOT a heretic or armenian as the "calvinists" claim.
Take time to listen to him, pray and follow the direction of the Holy Spirit as HE leads you.
Yours in Christ-PEACE

 | JCSaves (3) 02/23/2008 | Wommack is what I refer to as a "Heretic lite." He is a false teacher, but he's less filling than your regular prosperity preacher. He's somewhat subtle in the prosperity doctrine, and his push for money doesn't quite equal that of prosperity hustlers like Benny Hinn, Paula White, Creflo Dollar, TD Jakes, Paul Crouch and so on, but he can be just as dangerous. He comes across as very knowledgable and very humble, but his doctrines and teachings are a product of very carnal-minded scripture interpretation, and he often bases his understanding and teaching of scripture passages on his personal experiences. Most of what he calls "gospel truths" are mostly his opinions on what he thinks the scriptures say, and they're mostly wrong. He so rarely, if ever, compares spiritual things with spiritual, as Paul said we are to do with God's word(1 Cor 2:13). I know most people won't agree with me about Wommack, and that's OK. His soft-spoken delivery and confidence are very appealing to people who are hungry for God's word. But he is one of those subtle false teachers that mixes a bit of truth with a little bit of heresy, which produces very erroneous, deceitful and dangerous teachings

 | NancyPants (0) 12/03/2007 | Andrew is amazing. All this calling him a "name it and claim it" preacher is nonsense. He actually preaches against that if you ever took the time to hear him preach, and as for "begging" for money to stay on the air, totally absurd! His ministry is doing great even with sending 3 FREE teachings EVERY week to ANYONE who calls and asks for them. He doesn't need to beg for money, God takes care of him fine.

And the best part is, Andrew never pressurizes or emotionally blackmails people to give money. He never threatens people using Bible Scriptures. Just a very simple but tremendously effective man of God who teaches people about the Unconditional Love and Grace of God for us humans.

 | mydaughter (0) 10/10/2007 | I agree with most of these people about Andrew Wommack, he tells it like it is, in such a loving way. I got born again Nov 4th 2005 when he was teaching on his tv show that Jesus commands us to be born-again. I knew I was not born again so when you become born again of the spirit you know it because you know it. My husband does not like the way he talks, but I tell him that I used to fall asleep when I had started to listen to him.(it was actually the enimy that would put me to sleep. Till that day when I stayed awake and fought the devil with everything I had. You see I was diagnosed with bi-polar desease and a bunch of other brain disorders. But I got totally delivered from all the loony mumbo jumbo that almost landed me in an insane asylum. The day I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ I understood how much God loves us, and we cannot make light of it. The day Jesus sacrificed His life for us, our little peanut brain cannot grasp it. I just want to say that God has given me so many wonderfull gifts like the gift of decernment and I decern that Andrew is the only one that preaches the true gospel on tv.

 | jamesf (0) 09/21/2007 | For three months I suffered from many different symptoms from burning and tingling in my feet to extreme muscle weakness in my legs. I lost 36 pounds during that time and had twitching sensations all over my body. CT scans showed a "spot" on my liver, three "spots" in my right lung and one "Spot" behind my pulmonic artery. Blood work revealed small oat cell carcinoma or lung cancer. Through believing that Jesus provided healing in the atonement, praising God for His healing and speaking directly to the illness I was completely healed! When the surgeons operated to remove the part or parts of my lung that were suppose to be bad they found nothing! Andrew Wommacks teachings revealed these truths to me. The point is though its not about Andrew Wommack, and he would tell you that, its about understanding Gods word. I didnt have a faith problem I had a knowledge problem. You can believe it or not that is up to you but as for me and my house we believe. Praise God!!

If you want the Truth others are ignorant of or have the eyes of their understanding closed, read these books and verify it with the Word. | krixtina (0) 07/20/2007 | I have grown in the Lord since I discovered Andrew Wommack Ministries. If you are not convinced, study his teachings and go to the Bible and back up what he says with scripture. So far it backs up and works for me and my family! I was told negative things about him from someone I believe just perused his website. Not sure, she meant well, and wants the best for me. NO ONE person or ministry will ever have it 100% correct. GOd WANTS us to question and study and rely in the Holy Spirit!!! Andrew brings things alive and draws all over the Bible not just taking one verse and making his opinion, he meditates and studies things out long term! He does not hide anything as far as I have seen! His materials are available for free. How many people need the word and can't afford them? There are many studies online for free. I have downloaded many of his studies onto my MP3 player (with help from my 11 year old daughter). We are seeing and experiencing tangible evidence of God's word and the power given to us from Jesus through the Holy Spirit in our lives. I am thankful for his ministry and the truths that I have learned and my children have learned! I love you Lord!!!

this guys teaching totally blew my mind first time i heard him, and has continued to open up mind. listening to a guy can not give me the revelation i receive when i listen to this guy, it is the spirit opening up his teachings and confiming them in my heart. no teacher has been able to open up my heart as much as THIS GREAT MAN OF GOD!!

They even pay for the shipping. You can go to their website and download anything you want Free. From Charitynavigator.org They get the highest rating possible from charitynavigator.org They live in a house they paid $60,000 for. Check his website, the man is on the road alot. The Wommacks are Not in this for the money, they are in it for God. False Teacher? He ties everything he says into a bible passage. I guess it comes down to how you read what is written. I know I have advanced more in my knowledge of the Lord in three months of listening to Andrew than 25 years elsewhere. As a ex-cop who is now a lawyer, I am a bit like Thomas.... You have to show me. I've listened to 25-35 hours of AW material. I have yet see anything that runs counter to the bible. Please email me if you have run across anything. Don't just say he is a false teacher, alert us if you find something. His claims of Gifts of the Holy Ghost still being active doesnt count as that is just your interp vs. his.

Andrew Wommack has taught me that all my efforts to maintain my salvation, such as tithing, pleading, being holier-than-thou, praying for hours on end, etc are not worth a cracker. Man's salvation is, and always will be, accepting Jesus, and His finished work. Nothing I can do can improve or add to that. And it only took me twenty years to finally realise it. I wish I had heard Andrew twenty years ago. I also appreciate the fact that he does not yell at me.

 | BewareFalseProphets (8) 04/05/2007 | First of all, let me say that I have a bit more respect for Wommack than I do the plethora of prosperity preachers. But I regretfully feel that he misses the mark too many times. I don't believe that we can do any certain formula and God automatically does what we want Him to. I've know people with great faith and love for God who had ailments that either took them at young ages, or plagued them well into their old age. I don't believe it's a matter of confessing this, or mustering up enough faith for that. God's hand is not limited by what we puny humans do or don't do. He works ALL things after the council of His own will. He also seems to believe that God has "limited sovereignty," meaning that He's allowed His sovereignty to adjust to man's "free will." I emailed him on this point, and his secretary and I exchanged a few words. Either God is sovereign, or man's free will is sovereign. It can't be both, and sovereignity cannot be "limited."

I was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 12 and after many chiropractors and masseuses relegated myself to pain on a daily basis. In spite of a heavier workload than ever this month, by God's grace and faith in Jesus (which is where Wommack himself says it should be), not faith in a man, I am healed of pain. Real deal, folks.

 | cornerstone (0) 02/15/2007 | Pastor Wommack does not claim that he can heal anyone. However, in line with Holy Scriptures, he agrees that he has been a conduit in which the Holy Spirit flows through (just like Paul, Peter and Jesus) to heal others. Jesus healed not based upon His personal divinity, but has the Holy Spirit flowed through Him. Jesus had emptied Himself prior to coming to this earth, to be an example for us to follow. He said that the things that He did, we would do like wise because He goes to the Father. As going to the Father, Jesus filled the promise to the disciples to send the Holy Spirit to us. Christ in us the Hope of Glory. I suggest that you read the Scriptures, not based upon your tradition, which make them void in your life, but through the revelation of the Spirit.

 | Corwin (0) 03/26/2006 | Andrew Wommack has changed my life. Contrary to a previous comment Andrew's whole message is that what we receive is by grace through faith. Again contrary to a previous comment Andrew is completely dependant of what God has done. But that is the difference God has already done it, that is why Jesus said "it is finished". It is said that Jesus came to distroy the works of the devil. And it says elseware that He was seated at the right hand of God because He had accomplished all He had been sent to do. Those that accuse "faith" teachers of treating God like a vending machine are saying that the vending machine is more dependable than God. God does and will do everything He says in the Bible, out job is to find pout what He has said and then believe it.

 | Philoah (0) 05/18/2005 | Andrew is another one that sounds good and Scriptural at first, until you get beneath the surface. There, it can be seen that he is just another word-of-faith false teacher who says that God has given you all the same miraculous powers that he gave Peter and the Apostles, and that all you have to do is activate them. In other words, you don't have to depend on God in faith; you can play God by being the initiator and making God the responder, and just push God's buttons and presto! You just get whatever you want: name-it-and-calm-it.
He's also just a toned down version of Benny Hinn.
He is also a legalist about salvation, teaching that there must be more from the person than simply trusting Christ at some point in time in order to be saved.
