I think that Spoon is finally going to blow up with the release of Gimme Fiction. This band is just too good to remain unknown, and this record seems to be generating some good buzz. Style wise, Gimme Fiction is all over the place. You can hear Rolling Stones influences, Wilco influences, and good old Austin rock and roll influences. Beast and Dragon and I turn my camera on are my two favorite tracks from the record so far... am checking out Spoon live today at a free show at the fabulous Amoeba Records on Haight Street. Can't wait.
