The Second Movement, 'Largo', in Antonín Dvorák's Symphony No. 9 ("From the New World"). Only 13 mellow minutes in an otherwise first-class 40 minute composition, perhaps, but the movement, a "mock Irish ballad" (Jacques Lory) is a wonderful composition nonetheless.
Incidentally, the Deutsche Grammophon label packages Rafael Kubelik's recording of Dvorák's symphonies 7, 8 and 9 with the Berlin Philharmonic on two mid-price CDs, alongside an evocative interpretation of Smetana's 'Moldau'. A clear bargain.
