Decided to check out this dating site to see what it was all about, since I have tried a few of the others. They offered a "free" trial membership. I wish that I had read up on them because I would have never joined. I absolutely agree with all the negative reviews posted and then some!! BIG HASSLES- Suspect of the site so i called to cancel the same day. BIG RED FLAG that you have to call to cancel btw. The rep was misleading and tells you to take advantage of the membership while it's still good for the next couple days. DID NOT tell me that they did not cancel membership. So they charged me for a month and "other" fees. Called back again to correct and was given a hard time. Finally spoke to a supervisor that took care of the problem. RIDICULOUS that they give you the run around. They are full of it.....DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR BAIT AND SWITCH.

I wish I had come here before I signed onto True.com. From the beginning I received a lot of emails and winks. I signed up for the free trial. Then decided to keep going. Big mistake. There is a guy I have been emailing and he has also said he thinks that the site is fishy. I first started to notice that I was claiming to be winking at men I wasn't even interested in. Today took the cake. There was a man who wrote me a private email saying he got my message stating that we were a good sex match. I never wrote him an email nor winked at him. I feel very offended and misrepresented. Also I agree that the cancellation policy is awful. They don't let you do it by email. You have to call. I wonder how long it is going to take me to get out of this. Tomorrow I am going to try to call them. So, please think really hard before you get into this site.

I wish I could give less than 1 star. Before I gave them my credit card information I was receiving messages from girls (keep in mind, I hadn't even uploaded a picture yet or input profile data or took the stupid personality sex type survey, which I'd never even heard of until now). I knew right then that it was worth reading up on this site before I committed to anything. Every review of this site is negative! coincidence?

It is a complete scam, avoid even viewing it. I began to fill out the appilication type thing but once it got to asking for my credit card after saying it was absolutely free to look I closed out of the window. Less then a week later I start recieving phone calls from a number with a Dallas Texas area code. I eventually answer and it is a rep from true.com only wanting to help me create a more "detailed" account. He asked me several questions about myself and flirted consistantly through the whole conversation. Then he told me that he had a rep. in the area who I could speak to in person to secure my idenity. All I need to provide was a copy of my drivers license and my show that I owned a credit card. Once that came up again I said I wasnt interested and had to hang up on him because he wouldnt not let me off the phone. I began recieving daily phone calls from other reps from true, many leaving messages even after I told them to stop. I finally got to the point where I answered and told the rep (it was a girl this time) that I was engaged in an attempt to get them to stop calling she asked how that was possible in that short amount of time, and I told her it just was. She said "ok" then hung up on me. All that and I didnt even sign up for the site!! I cant imagine the horror of being a member!

After signing up for True's free profile I started getting regular emails from them saying I had a certain number of messages and I should join (3 or 7-day trial and then $49.95 per month) and respond to the messages. With about 180 messages (winks, as it turned out) received, I decided to join. The winks had different messages:Hi and then my user nameWere you trying to get in touch with me?I like your profileI'm online now and want to chat with youDo you want to chat?I'm online and want to meet youshe wants to meet you nowAs you can see, all but the last message appear to be personal messages. I responded to a couple of them and the ladies wrote back that they had not contacted me. I called True.com and talked with a supervisor. As it turns out, True's default setting for all new accounts is to automatically send "winks" to people that might match what the supposed sender is looking for. Now how impersonal can it get? A computer sends a personal-sounding message to another person as if from me without me even having looked at that person's profile or even going online. It would be more honest to send a message saying "You match xxx's criteria. Why not have a look at her/his profile?" Or "xxx just looked at your profile."What makes this confusing is that users can also look at a person's profile and send a wink. But the recipient has no way of knowing if the wink was computer generated without the person's knowledge and perhaps against their desires or was in fact sent by a person that is genuinely interested. As a result I deleted 185 winks because in this situation they were meaningless to me.True offers a 303-question Personality Test and a Sexploration Test. My results from the Personality Test were about 40 pages long and seemed to very accurately describe who I am, what I'm like. The Sexploration Test also seemed quite accurate when it classified me as a "Maverick". However, what True does with the results seems useless. One page lists the eight different Sex Types and compares the compatibility of Mavericks with each of the others. Mavericks with Mavericks had the highest rating. Mavericks with Traditionalists the lowest. There are two major flaws with this page. After each sex type there is a link saying "Find Mavericks near you - free". "Find Fantasizers near you - free" etc. I clicked on the link to find Initiators and looked at 20-30 profiles and not a single one was an Initiator. There were several different sex types represented but no Initiators. I went back and clicked on the other sex type links and got the exact same list of ladies every time. Any normal person would think that they would get a list of just the one sex type they had clicked on. When I called customer service the lady just tried to make me look stupid. Absolutely no acknowledgment that the system was deficient.

Scam: paid employees acting as "singles" contact you who are not really interested then when pressed claim to be a "coach". Must call to cancel and get a big ru around. The ads are deceptive (claim they are from your town-- but are really models with your town's name under the pic). The worst kind of web site-- under no circumstances give them your credit card number!!!

This is a terrible site If you cancel by phone you have to call a long distance number. Because I had to use a calling card, there was no record of my cancelation call and they refuse to honor this. You can't unsubscribe via email and the customer service is terrible They have very few local people that were signed on this site...I should have paid closer attention to that flag

This site is no better than any other pay site. What really irritated me though is they kept sending me email saying I had a message or a couple messages, but when I logged on, there were none. Either they deleted them, or as is more likely, they just send those emails to everyone to get you to log back in.
MattShizzle 05/21/2006
Rotten. Way too expensive to afford anything other than free membership, and you can't do anything on free membership. They also make fake profiles to send winks to try to get you to be a paying member.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! Site stuffed with photos from rural areas, unworkable search tools, constant unsolicited emails, and they refuse to delete your name or account when asked. Stay away, or better, crash the site.

Scam site.
sweetsound 12/05/2005
Be careful they will gip your credit card. The site automatically charges your card every month, without any notice. Don't expect any soulmates on this site.
magellan 07/24/2005
Don't really know anything about the site, but they certainly have some provocative advertising.
