i do not like these at all. they are dangerous and a pain to use

Prefer gas myself. The heat seems more dependable, and you can always use it as an emergency match. On a side note: If you're suicidally inclined, its tough to ring down the curtain with an electric oven. LOL.

Recently bought one of these, about 3 months ago, a Whirlpool, basic with self -cleaning oven. I find it to be pretty good. I used to have a regular electric, but I hated how the little pans underneath the burners got so gross and I would have to replace them often. This stove has it's draw backs, in that it takes a little while to cool down, and when stuff sticks to the top, it is really hard to get off and will leave stains. It is better than having wet goo under the top like the typical stove, though. Another benefit for it is, it's flat, therefore if you want to stick a pan of something you cooked in the center of the burners, it's possible.
