I moved into my house in 1980 and the side by side refrigerator in my kitchen (a G.E.) is still there and working great....I am now going to replace it...Why? 'cause it's harvest gold....great color for the 70's and 80's kitchen but not today...I want a black one with all the bells and whistles. So, in a few minutes, I'm leaving to go buy one...I hope it's just as good and I can get it fairly cheap...we shall see

I prefer a side-by-side too, especially with the ice and water dispensers on the door. Souljunkie you might let your wife know that although stainless steel refrigerators look great, they show every smudge and fingerprint mark. A product called Sheila Shine works well on stainless and helps protect it too.

The wife wants a stainless one real bad! But cannot afford such things, or choose not to. I would love one to but Right now Ive gotta pay for my daughters braces!
