love it.

I don't see what's so bad about Independence Day. It was a good, throroughly entertaining summer blockbuster. It is even quite re-watchable, which I can't say of a lot of movies that have received much higher praise.

This is the kind of movie that when people ask me what I think after I walk out of the theater, I would pause for 5 seconds, tilt my head, then I'd say "it's.....entertaining" with a knowing smile. A good movie? Definitely not. Do I regret seeing it? Not entirely. It's just that I spend 2 hours of my time to be entertained when I watch it, and nothing else do I really gain from it. Hey, and nothing is wrong about spending 2 hours of my life just to be entertained.

I don't know what was wrong with this movie I liked it. I would'nt call it a great movie but I don't think it deserves to be on this list

I kind of liked it but I feel the pain of those who didn't.

This was one of the worst movies I've seen in the past 10 years. And, considering the banality of our contemporary culture, one of the most popular and lucrative, of course.

Solid plot, decent acting and awesome special effects. In no way does this movie belong on this list. There are many crappy movies on this list but this one seems out of place. What exactly made you think this movie sucked?

I can't believe my previous comment about this was deleted! And who's the rat that can't handle words. Man, I thought it was pretty funny too. Oh, well, that's living in a free country for ya. Thanks, war - I feel free now. To the issue at hand: Hollywood and this movie gently pokes at my rearend with a magical stick (that better?) Will Smith is not funny and never has been (I think some have mistaken charisma for funny). In fact, he has no sense of humor. Remember this, Will Smith don't have to cuss in his raps to sell records, well I do, so F him and F you too? Yeah, he's really willing to poke fun at himself? Anyway, yeah, this movie sucked. film buffs know that. Ask somebody who liked this if they liked 'City of God' or 'Amores Perros' or something, and they will have no clue what you're talking about. FYI- studios use and abuse people with movies like this. They sit around and laugh at how awful it is, and how much money it made. It's a shame that most movie goers don't care. Yep, just blow up DC, throw in Will (family friendly) Smith, and sit back, collect checks, buy coke and new yachts.

I rooted for the aliens. My good. . .Bill Pullman as the president? The stripper with the heart of gold? The dog managing to escape at the last moment? And that howling-awful speech at the end. . .our planet deserved whatever it got. ..

Ok maybe it wasnt so great, but I am just fond of Will Smith. His sence of humor is very much like my own. He is a cool black man who is willing to laugh at himself and his own culture. I like a person like that.

Maxed out action, zippty do dah substance.

This movie wasn't too bad, although it is a typical alien movie.

OK this one was pretty bad, I agree. Another typical film with all sorts of fighting and blowing things up and some what cool effects but then will smith comes out, without a scratch. Impressive.EDIT: why couldn't you have an alien beating sandler's face in?
