The first one was pretty funny but the second one was just an effort to catch the magic and ended up a bunch of stupid gags.

Yes, this movie truly sucked. As do all the Jim Carrey efforts wherein he is allowed to behave freakishly. Apparently, his shtick that he first exposed (to a large audience) on In Living Color was a hit with a lot of fans ... for reasons I'll never understand. However, Carrey has delivered good performances. The Truman Show and a little known film (whose title currently slips my mind) about a guy who becomes amnesiac and moves into a small Central California town in the 40's are chief among those.

Carrey's a good actor and very funny. But in the Ace Ventura sequels I couldn't find a way to laugh.
