On a list of "bird" films, this pretty much has to take the top spot. Not Hitchcock's best, but very good in places, and above average throughout.

Hitchcock reached his peak in this film- The scary tale of the small northern California coastal town of Bodega being attacked by birds. 'Tippi' Hedren is wonderfully beautiful as the blond 'Ice Princess'- Jessica Tandy puts in her usual great performance, and Rod Taylor plays a great foil to Hedren. I have visited the town several times. Most of the town burned down many years ago- although the 'Tides' restaurant remains- and is a tourist mecca and iconic meeting place for locals. The Bodega Bay school also remains standing- although it is not used for such today. Very beautiful area some 60 miles north of the Golden Gate.

Great suspense. Filmed in a beautiful place of which I'm very familiar. A hilarious scene in coffee shop where they're debating the nature of birds as the birds are flying down to attack them.
