09/25/2005 | This was fun! The one I'm familiar with the series that starred William Bendix although there was an earlier edition starring Jackie Gleason.
Riley was a blue collar worker in California who was a gentle everyman who usually was able to turn a calm situation into chaos. Whenever he had really screwed things up, he would say, "What a revoltin' development this is." Things always came out right in the end.
