 | LanceRoxas (41) 05/24/2005 | Alan Dershowitz, no lunatic right winger, states that if the stakes are high enough torture is permissible and concludes that taking into context the ticking bomb scenario that no one who doubts that [torture should be permissible] should be in a position of responsibility. He concludes that the threat needs to be identified and brough under legal jurisdiction that would require a warrant issued by a judge to exercise said level of torture. I personally agree with him in part that anyone who thinks torture is impermissible all together is out of their minds. However I disagree with him on his solution to create an affirmative check on the use of torture. Judges should be able to determine what level of torture should be permissible? I don't think so.
