Amongst various I love DQ because... reasons, the fans often mention the historical accuracy, sense of detail, and mix of actual events with the fictional storyline. This eppy is the best example of it. Because DQ was a family show, the slaughter scene had to remain decent and discreet, and this IMHO is much better than showing blood all over the TV screen. So it was up to the characters to convey the extent of those atrocities, and all those involved (Joe, Jane & Larry, even Tantoo in her last scene) showed the best of their talent. I still shed a lot of tears every time I watch this eppy, it's so horrible to realise that such a blooshed actually happened for real, and reality was 100 times worse. One of the best dramatic episodes of the whole series.
