Drives aggressively and intelligently. She is a true professional race car driver. the fact that she is a woman does not matter at all. She should be recognized for her skills not her sex. Although I must say she is pleasing to the eyes. I enjoy watching her race and I have not done that in years.

HA! what the hell is wrong with all the bozos who describe Danica Patrick as "overrated," "a fraud", and "pathetic"? How many of you clowns could finish 4th at Indy? Or finish at all, for that matter! She drives a high tech piece of machinery that does well over 200 MPH for a living, not a freakin' hobby people! What do you guys do for a living, deliver pizzas? Can you say "ENVY"? Hey, if you're one of those "manly men" who only want to see "manly men " being "manly" then go rent Brokeback Mountain and knock yourself out! But give Danica her due, you stupid goofballs!

A fraud. She's just around to boost the IRL and save the organization. I watched the Indy 500 to see the race. What I imagined would happen did. Danica had a stretch where she commanded an amazing lead over all the other drivers in an amazingly staged event. It looked like a showpiece moment. Having looked at her performance in past races including tonight's Bombadier Race, I'm even more convinced she's just a ratings booster. Dan Wheldon has won like 3 or 4 races and finished pretty highly in every race but Danica has finished in the top 5 twice and the other 3 or 4 times, about 13 or 15the place. The first time she came in the top 5, it was the race before Indy, and then she came in 4th at that one. Nice stunt, IRL.

Give Danica her props. For starters, she's hot -- maybe not Kournikova hot, but definitely could drive my car (or better yet, reside in the back seat). Best of all, in the history of sports, this is the best performance by a woman in an all-men field of a major sporting event (though Annie Duke routinely whips the tar out of men in Texas Hold 'em). Though the Indy 500 used to be the main event in auto racing, the bickering between USAC and CART destroyed open wheel racing in America and NASCAR never looked back. Mayby Danica's effort will give Indy cars much-needed attention. By the way, who won the race?

All I really saw for most of the month of May was a diminutive, average looking young woman with a bad dye job and over-fed ego. At the risk of sounding like Jan Brady, all month long it was Danica, Danica, Danica - you'd have thought she was the only person running the race or, at least, the only woman who ever qualified. I'm so glad its over for another year so I won't be forced to hear about her for awhile. In the end, she made a decent showing for a rookie driver (4th in the 500). But when it comes to public relations it would seem that some work still needs to be done. Just a thought, but the world might start to take female competitors a little more seriously when they stop trading on sex appeal and playing heavily on the fact that they are an anomaly.
