Probably the single dumbest man to occupy the Oval Office. Unable to say "no" to anyone, particularly the gang of cronies that surrounded him. On a positive note, he did more to preserve the Constitution than any president before him. He had it removed from the Library of Congress, where it was decaying in the archives, and protected under glass.

He looked like a savior following the worst President of the United States, Wilson.

He is often considered one of the worst presidents in US history. That, I feel, is very unfair. His best act was hiring Andrew Mellon, America's best secretary of the treasury. Harding was never directly associated with the scandals that rock his administration, but he died before he could clear his name. Most of the trashing came from pro-New Deal intellectuals who looked for a scapegoat for the Great Depression, very inacurately, most economic historian now argue.
