Borodino battle is quite interesting from the historic perspectives. There are several points to consider:
1. Technically, nobody win on the battlefield.
2. Russians retreated after the battle, leaving the territory to Napoleon.
3. Next, French captured Moscow without struggle.
4. Soon after that, they leave the city without any substantial reason and run back. The Russian Army and civilians did not have any troubles killing them on the way, one-by-one and in groups.
So, was that Russian genious forecast? Or pure chance?
