Overall Rating:2.84 based on 112 ratings
The franchise was originally established in 1876 as the Cincinnati Red Stockings. They changed their name to the Reds in 1878, but disbanded for ten years. With the exception of a six year period when they were known as the Redlegs (1953-1958), the team has been the Reds since they were re-established in 1890. The franchise has won five World Series championships, most recently in 1990. An NL Central team, the Reds play their home games at Cynergy Field in Cincinnati, OH. Reds in the National Baseball Hall of Fame include Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench, and Tony Perez. (Add picture)

Awesome baseball tradition in Cincinnati. i love the reds, attending about 1 game per home series. they have had a LOT of sucess, but not as much recently. i believe dusty baker could do great things with this program.

They have some talent, but don't count on Dusty Baker to turn things around in Cincy.

Fire Dusty

Hire Lee Seras as manager!!!

It will depend how liberal the judge is granting work release for the various Bengal players.

The whole team cannot depend on one player... it's been like that for a couple of years now

Great team in the 70's, and won the whole thing in '40 and '90 as well. A great town for baseball: until the economics of the game changed some years back. The 70's team was great, but kind of a cold, efficient, methodical bunch: frankly not the most colorful team. I'm taking nothing away from how remarkable they were, but I like teams with lots of characters, like the A's or Red Sox had in that period. Bill Lee, the screwball lefty said: "Jack Webb should be their manager." Lately, they've become a rather boring team.

How the hell does a team that sucks, and has not won 20 games get to be 11th? Junior is at the end of his career, Dunn stikes out more than anyone in the majors. JOKE.

I don't expect this team to contend this year. They have a great outfield consisting of Ken Griffey Jr., Adam Dunn and Austin Kearns. If Griffey Jr. and Kearns stay healthy they can be a dangerous team.

looking good. could take a real run this year. The KEY is a healthy, productive Griffey.

When I'm not suffering for the Red Sox, I'm following along with the Reds. I'm very happy that Margie Schott is dead and Ken Griffey is healthy.

If these guys get a nice starting pitcher and they continue to stay healthy, watch out! Sean Casey is my MVP right now.

They've played over their heads so far in 2003, but show they want to win and can generate plenty of offense. Whether they have the pitching and staying power remains to be seen. Cincy fans can look forward to a .500 season, perhaps, but playoff chances are pretty slim for them in the talent-laden NL.

Great baseball tradition in a great baseball town. Eat your heart out, St. Louis.

I think that the Reds do a great job of staying competitive without being able to acquire any significant free agents, esp in the rotation.

other than sean casey, they suck. Jr. seems like a big bust and they aren't gonna be able to hang on much longer in the top of the divison.

Great year last year and it looks like they should be able to match that succes with some of their off-season acquisitions.

The reds and A's have put together great and exciting teams of unknowns for cheap!
