I love Batman through all his incarnations. I like best that he is often held back by being a regular person and makes him want power but his humanity makes him the marvel that he is and helps him to become the most well knon hero all over the world. He also doesn't always rely on his hi-tech gadgets to solve his cases but he often uses his detective skills and physical strenth. To me the Dark Knight embodies all that is super and all that can be called a hero. I was introduced to Batman through The Animated Series and that is how I made my list and I still follow the DCU animated universe to this day up. His heart is what makes him a hero.

Batman is one of best superheroes to ever come ouy of the comics golden age, and stay around too. I think what makes him tick so well is that he has no powers, and depends solely on his fighting skills, acrobatic and gymnastic skills and his overall athletic ability. His greatest skill though is his detective skill. In his world, he is the worlds greatest detective. I think deep down we all wish we could dedicate our lives (at least guys) to something greater than us.

Arguably, the three most popular comicbook heroes of all time are Superman, Spiderman, and Batman. Of the three, Batman is the most unique. He stands as an equal with some of DC comic's most powerful superheroes, namely those in the Justice League. Batman has proved time and time again that superpowers do not neccessarily a superhero make. He has single-handedly defeated half of the Hyperclan, outwitted Darkseid, and has saved the League on more than one occassion. Batman is the most intimidating and devistating character in DC comics; even Superman has said that Batman possesses the most destructive mind in the universe. With enough prep time, Batman can defeat almost any foe. He is the world's greatest detective with a winning strategy for any situation. In sum, the Batman stands as one of the greatest heroes of all time.
