Saint Paul was struck by a viper on Malta, he shook it off into the fire and felt no ill effects, but this was not a planned event, and he was "prayed up" as we say. But if this was to be part of worship, there would be much more instruction in the bible on it. There is not! Don't go drinking poison either! Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God!

Hmmm! Perhaps there is a reason why this sect has not multiplied and spread. Darwin Awards anyone?

Don't TEST God period! Trusting God and testing God are two different things!

God's greatest gift to man is our ability to reason. It is through man's ability to reason that he can find the Lord through the world the Lord created. These freaks reduce man and faith to a game of Russian Roulette- in reality a real world proof of natural selection.

This is one of the things that make Pentecostals like myself look bad. All too often, the reaction (when someone tells another that he/she is Pentecostal) is Oh, you're one of those poison-drinking snake-handlers. Well, let me get something straight.... I would NEVER put God to the test like that! I don't even want to be AROUND snakes, let alone, pick them up. I would NOT deliberately get a jug of antifreeze, pour some in a glass and gulp it down. I'm not going to deliberately go to the top of a building and jump down. That's dumb! The Scripture that magu is referring to means if it's by ACCIDENT, or if it is unbeknownst to the believers, then it won't harm them. In other words: what you don't know won't hurt you. However, if you KNOW it's dangerous, don't touch it!

Otherwise known as congenital idiots. They most likely start off their services with a little dueling banjo music.
