Paula started out very well on the show and in the beginning I thought she had some great food ideas and down to earth recipes and then she brought her entire family in on it and that became boring very quickly. Paula, be the southern cook you started out to be and not a rendition of the Brady Bunch

I like her show but she needs to keep her sons and husband off. I wish she could say the word oil and not ol. I think her sons are gay and her husband looks hammered every time hes on.

Paula was watchable when she was in her own kitchen. Now that she's been "discovered", she's become very hard to watch. I don't care anything about her sons or her husband, so don't show them, please.

She is what she is, cooking-wise, but her entourage is way too goofy and adds nothing.

me and my husband really enjoy her.she is really close with her boys and she is, in our book the only real person on television.we really enjoy her and her family.

I am not a fan of this show. I find Paula Deen grating and obnoxious, and the food she makes is just too heavy and unhealthy for my taste.

The south didn't win the Civil War and I hate pecan pralines, OKAY! If you ate her recipes even half of the time you would be in a cardiac ward in a month or you would develop severe diabetes. Break out the Lipitor! This woman is simply incapable of creating anything without putting an entire stick of butter in it or setting the whole thing in a fry vat. Please! Hey look, I am not some rampant militant vegetarian or neither am I averse to shoving hi-calorie pizza slices down my capacious gullet on occasion but, please! My god lady, what are trying to do? My husband and I and our 4 boys were in Savannah this summer. We had to spend the night just so we could get in line early the next morning , just to get on the list to eat at Lady and Sons.By 2:30 that afternoon, after walking and waiting all day, we finally got to get in to actually eat. I have to say, I was disappointed. It was good food but, certainly not worth the wait or money. I can honestly say that I wouldn't go through that wait again in order to eat there. Sorry.

It would appear none of her guests ever get a dish she hasn't taken a bite out of! It's cute. I imagine she was always sticking her fingers in the frosting as a child. And her kids seem to really like her -- she rocks.

Love the show, Paula's got a lot of pure Southern charm (such an adorable lady, I cracked up when she actually said "Oh, CRAP," on her show when she left something in the oven. How cute is that?)

However, I don't think I'll ever actually attempt to cook anything from her show. Almost everything that she makes has butter in it, and not just a little, usually it's measured in STICKS, not tablespoons. Ever see a pan of brownies with a full POUND of butter? AND sugar? AND marshmallows? Sure, it looked great, but I almost had a heart attack watching it get put together.

Fun to watch, but DEFINATELY not diet food!

Sorry for all of you that think Pee Can isn't the way Pecan is pronounced in Georgia. I'm from Georgia orignially and that is definitely the way they pronounce it where I was raised.

Her food is usually (always?) too fattening. Southern to the core! Way too heavy.

I think Paula is a great asset to our american country women. Her personality alone is a delight to our everyday lives. Her receipies are all wonderful and tastefull. I look forward to watching her show everyday.

Love the show. But Paula starts to tell us the ingredients on some things, but not all of them. I can't tell how much flour, sugar and etc. to add when she says "I'm adding the flour" then she says, "I'm adding one egg" I'd like to know the exact ingredients she's putting into something. I think she's wonderful, down to earth, funny and enjoyable. I try taping the show to see if I can make what she made but without the exact ingredients, I'm at a loss.

I've tried several of her recipes - found them to absolutely wonderful! I'm in a panic right this minute because I need to make the Lemon Blossoms I saw day before yesterday and I can't get the recipe to come up on Food Network site. Can someone help? I used to adore Paula, but not anymore. That genuine Southern charm that originally attracted me to the show seems more like a contrived act these days. It's a shame when people are more interested in being celebrities than staying true to themselves. Don't believe your own hype, Paula. Stick to what you know best ... great Southern cooking!!

I love to see a southern woman talkin' ~ n ~ cookin'. I like to see her family too but I don't want her to cut her recipes short in order to get them into the show. The meals she has had appeals to me, but isn't she worried about cholesterol or fat? I know how to substitute same, but others may not. I feel she has genuiine TV appeal. Her sons too. FI think Paula is Super, I was hoping the ratings went to a "10" because that is what she deserves. I am born and raised in the South!!! She is a true Southern Belle, she makes you feel so relaxed with watching her cook. In this fast paced world she really makes you go back in the southern past with that laid back cooking atmosphere. All of her recipes that I have tried have been delicious!! She makes them so easy and simple to follow. When her (3) handsome Men in her life come in to help in the cooking, it is an added treat to see all of them working together. It is really a downhome type show!! I hope she never loses that Southern charm and changes her show. I look forward to one day going to Savannah and visiting her restaurant. I enjoy the southern cooking recipes. I watch the show often but would like more low-fat recipes. She does have some great recipes.

I really want to be annoyed by this lady but each time I watch her she reminds me how mom and mom's side of the family cooked and I learn something new. I too wish she'd lose that Pee-Can pronunciation too! I thought she might have been a Yankee but she lives close to peanut farmer Carter so I guess it is more a Georgia thing than a Yankee thing. It just ain't good to hear someone talk like that! Ditto those of you that go fishing for crappie like they are going to visit the John, or should I say head? Anyway, I felt uncomfortable about her trip to President Carters town. He clearly didn't know exactly what she does and I think he thought she was a little too pushy. I think she admired him a lot and wanted to be star struck since a President of the United States lived just a few miles from her and after all these years she would finally get to meet him. Instead it seemed like she was trying to smooth things over for taking up his time. Must have been some production problems that we didn't see. I think Carter thought it was for him to show her and her viewers his favorite Chicken restaurant, take them on a tour and introduce them to the staff. She thought it was to feed him her favorite dish and have him exclaim how good it was and how nice it was for her to go to all the trouble. I'm not sure who looked worse on that particular show. Carter seemed very aloof and irritated by her from time to time but you could see the diplomat come out in him, not as polished as it was when he was younger. IOW, it seemed like a major chore for him not to say anything harsh. Not really knowing Carter I would surmise by his body language he wanted to say, "Woman... keep you mouth shut for just a damn tiny moment so I can just get a word in edgewise, please!"

If you dyed my mother's hair, dressed her in same clothes as Paula they could past for sisters or twins. There height,size, are about the same, plus my mom can cook like Paula "a great cook". Her name is Jenny and she wishes her kitchen just look half has good has Paula's. This her kid on her computer telling you but she isn't here. Paula is a joy to watch! I'm an old Alabama girl, and I feel right at home watching her make all the foods my Mama used to make. Her relationship with her two sons is fabulous! I would travel miles to see her and would love to visit her restaurant. Please don't ever lose that wonderful Southern accent!!! Some of her expressions I've heard all of my life. I find myself sitting there watching the show with a huge smile on my face if I'm not laughing out loud!

Paula Dean is the best down south cook. I love watching her show. One day I hope to be a great cook like her. I'm going to cooking classes and in time I'd love to open up my own restaraunt.

I try to always catch Paula's show, I grew up on simple southern cooking and her style brings me back to better days. Her success story is an inspiration and I would love to go to her restaurant one day. Her pronunciation of oil reminds me of my mother.

Paulas can cook the best food. If you love suthern food you will for sure love paula. She is always in a great mood. And she makes her food so easy. A little on the fating side, but still good. Paula is always on the food network at 10:30 Via west coast.I recomand her cook book which has all the great southren food. She will always be better then Ina Garten and Rachel Ray. She is the cooking queen!!!!

I love Paula! I would never make her recipes due to the calorie content, but she is such a sweetie it's always a joy to watch.

I am from the south, and I know that that is real southern cooking. But I prefer not to eat real southern cooking becuase I don't want to die young of a heart attack. I mainly just watch the show to count how many sticks of butter she can use in one episode!

She's crass, raunchy, especially when shes holding a cucumber or somthing else long and to piggy for her own good. The food is rediclous, her accent annoying (ol=oil?) and i dont like her at all

I watch the Food Network alot. After seeing Paula cook her wonderful dishes, I became hooked. When she prepares a dish and then samples for taste, the viewer can almost taste the dish too. She's sassy, she's beautiful, has a super laugh and seems to have fun at anything she attempts. I would truly love to meet her one day.

Paula is so down to earth one has to dig down awhile to get to her level. This makes her program a joy even when she kills herself and us with calories and saturated fat. I believe that she is very skilled at country cooking and we all can learn from both her techniques and menu choices.

I am originally from New Orleans, but now live in Mississippi. This is the way we cook down here in the south. from new orleans, it was mostly spicy cooking and everything was with GRAVY!!now in Mississippi, everything is lapped in cooking oil!! i had to wipe the dust from the family treadmills and exercise equipment for us. we look at paula's show everyday. she has given me fabulous cooking ideas. way to go Paula!!! Good grief, this woman can make anything fattening. I saw her take a hotdog, wrap it in bacon, slather it in nacho cheese, and cover all that in coleslaw. Everything she makes is a heart attack waiting to happen.

I love watching the show. I get new idea's and helpful hints. Love the dogs in the kitchen makes it feel like my home. I can't cook without my dog under my feet.

Being a southern gal myself. I love the way that she adds that additional something to the recipe to bring excitement and fun to it. We do not have a lot of choices at the market, but just knowing the little things that should be on the self, can make a simple dish, an exciting one! Keep up the tasteful work, Ms. Paula!

Paula cooks food that I like to cook. Her recipes don't have a lot of ingredients that you can't find.

I have to say being a California boy, I was oblivious to what Southern cooking was all about until I discovered Paula Deen. I have never seen a chef on any program that is as warm and loves cooking as much as she does. I LOVE HER. Her quirky style and fact she just loves what she is doing makes her a lot of fun to watch. All I can say though is if you are watching your weight you better not write down her recipes lol.
