Exact date? Who knows. If we're equating the date of creation to the beginning of the universe, I think the scientific community would be pretty happy to have a consensus to within a billion years. 14 Billion years ago seems to be the currently most accepted age of the universe, but to be safe you should probably say 15 billion, plus or minus 5 billion. Pretty big range for the realistic case here considering that the young Earth crowd would argue about a difference of a few hundred years in their approximately 10,000 years ago idea.

Personally I think it's more important that they stamp the expiry date somewhere.

Story to break the news to you, but, there was no Creation. There was always the presence of matter and energy that led to the development of the universe, a process that's still continuing. So, in essence, Creation is still going on. This is undeniably observable through the use of the Hubble telescope. Silly question.

I don't know, and considering that an omnipotent divine being would likely have a very different scale of time from that of mere mortals, I don't think its particularly relevant. For my part, I believe time begins again every year, on Opening Day.

It seems that time as the fourth dimension was created and put in motion on the fourth day of Creation, when the celestial bodies that measure it were created.

In the begining... before time was time, now if your asking about creation of all including God, well God was not created. He is eternal, always was, always is and always will be!

creation-bible silliness-the earth 6000 years old, Oh give me a break! BTW the earth is FLAT!

I think if I bothered to do the math I'd get more than 6000, but not much more. Still, it is on record with the Illuminati that the world began on June 6, 6666 BC.

Since God's time and ours is not the same, we can't put a date to it. In the beginning.

Seven thousand years Gentle Jude? So young? I'm sorry to say, but the fossil record and earth itself beg to differ. The layers of rock in the earths crust date back hundreds of millions of years, and it's hard to argue carbon dating. Seeing as the church was wrong scientifically on a number of occasions (Galileo and others) it should not be an authority in the field of science. Claiming that the earth is so young based on a very questionable (and I mean VERY questionable) document is scientific blasphemy.

Not an issue. Time is a construct of man- not of the divine. The need for a date of creation is very immature to me. . .after all, what might a day or a year feel like for the almighty? How long was the first 'day'? A non-issue.

WARNING: SMART-A$$ COMMENT... I'm not sure about ccreation, but time began on a Tuesday, according to an Animaniacs episode.

Interesting question, but not the most important. If you have true faith, this question will be a matter of interest, not a matter of importance. I don't think anyone really knows and it is foolish for anyone to think they can calculate the exact date of creation. But the closest estimate is the age of the earth is around 7 thousand years old from creation. Since all of our dates are from one system or another, there was no date of creation. It just happened around 7 thousand years ago.

What is the date of creation? My first instinct is to say January 1, 0000 but I'm sure that's not correct. I don't think we're ever going to be able to put a date on this because the only eye witness account lists the time as being in the beginning. While that may not give us a starting date it's safe to say that this event happened first, before anything else.

Funny, how something that once seemed to be so important matters less and less to me as time goes by. All I can say is how amazing it is that everything is set in exactly the right way for life to exist on this planet and miraculously, it does and we do. I think that's all I really need to know.
