There are so many ignorant people on here it's really unreal!!!! John Lennon is generally considered by most music and rock critics, other well known music artists and millions of people to be a genuis! A brilliant song writer and a great singer with a beautiful voice which he inherited from his paternal grandfather who was a singer in a group in America. John had a lot of tragedies in his childhood and teens, first his father left him when he was just 3 then his mother gave him away to be raised by his aunt her older sister when John was 5 then his beloved Uncle George John's only real father figure, who taught John how to read at age 4,and who bathed him,and they adored each other, died suddenly when John was only 12! Then his pretty and inteligent mother Julia,(he later wrote the beautiful song in her name on The White Album)was killed instantly by being hit by a car driven by an off duty cop who was drunk right accross the street where John lived when he was only 17 and had just started to have a relationship with her. She taught him how to play the banjo and encouraged his interest in music. He ended up pretty mentally messed up from all of this and went into scream therapy with psychologist Dr.Arthur Janov in 1970 when John was 30. He then wrote and recorded an album based on his traumas and therapy, called,John Lennon Plastic ono Band. Rolling Stone Magazine and The All Music Guide and many others say what a brilliant record it is and it really is! He was writing and singing from real pain and anger and did it brilliantly! His Imagine album is also wonderful and Imagine is a beautiful song, his piano playing, his usual beautiful voice and the words and message are wonderful! John and Yoko also did a lot of good towards helping to protest against war, violence in general and did a lot to help promote women's equal human rights! Do any of you also know that John donated to many charity causes and donated a 1000$ to New York City Policemen for bulletproof vests in 1979 just a sad and ironic year before he was tragically killed by a crazy fan at the age of only 40!

I've come to the conclusion that I wouldn't want to interview him, as such, but I would just like to sit and watch him work. I didn't agree with all of his political stances, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a talented musician and songwriter. I will say if people on the left side of the political spectrum really want to be heard, they need a John Lennon instead of blow hards like Al Franken and Michael Moore.

He was always the best interview, snappy answers and grand irreverence. I'd also clue him in that it would take at least a second great song about socialism to convert the US to that ideology.
