I was Baptized when I was 13, I'm still hoping this will get my foot in the Door after I die.

A drunk stumbles along a baptismal service on Sunday afternoon down by the river. He proceeds to walk down into the water and stand next to the Preacher. The minister turns and notices the old drunk and says, 'Mister, Are you ready to find Jesus?' The drunk looks back and says, 'Yes,Preacher. I sure am.'The minister then dunks the fellow under the water and pulls him right back up. 'Have you found Jesus?' the preacher asked.'No, I didn't!' said the drunk. The preacher then dunks him under for quite a bit longer, brings him up and says, 'Now, brother, have you found Jesus?''No, I did not Reverend.'The preacher in disgust holds the man under for at least 30 seconds this time brings him out of the water and says in a harsh tone, 'My God, have you found Jesus yet?'The old drunk wipes his eyes and says to the preacher...'Are you sure this is where he fell in?'

Not if you decide it's not for you.

Baptism is a command given by Jesus Christ. It has no bearing on the Salvation of the person, but it must be administered as an act of obedience and according to the pre requisites established. Infant baptism is not biblical baptism.

NO. You were introduced to some water if you were baptised. You gotta try to live up to it to be a Christian.

Of course. When you are baptised, you become a member of the Church.

NEGATIVE!!!!! Water Baptism is to publicly symbolize your commitment to God. It is not a ceremony but a personal public statement between you and your savoir!!! Baptism of children also has NO covering, NO conformation of salvation! We are all born into this world with sin and it is up to us to get right with God! No ceremony or action by another except by God can give you eternal salvation!! We are all accountable to God; all must kneel before the mercy seat!!

If you are not professing to know and believe in Christ, why would you want to be baptized? The purpose of this ceremony is to let the world know what you believe. That does not mean you're no longer a sinner. We all fall short.

I believe in baptism as an outward sign of the cleansing done within. It is not essential to being saved. It is a rite of man to honor the work God has begun in a person, reflecting the cleansing of the heart with Christ's blood in the outward act of washing the body in water.

No, because a lot of the false prophets of the day have been baptized in water. In fact, they are big advocators of water baptism and even baptise people themselves. Repentance comes before baptism, not baptism before repentance. Ie repentance is a heart attitude, and if you confess that Jesus is the Lord with your mouth and believe He was raised from the dead in your heart, then you will be saved. Baptism is only a symbol, just like the washing of hands before a meal in Jesus' time was symbolic of cleanness.
