Considering that the exact year of Jesus's birth is unknown, although most scholars seem to place it 4-6 years earlier than our calendar system indicates, and Jesus started his ministry at about the age of 30 and probably died by the time he was 33, as of 2009 I'd say 1980 years, plus or minus 10 should cover it.

What is the age of the Church? Intellectually speaking? About 5 or 6.

We are living in the "Church age"; this is biblical from the book of Daniel. Daniel's prophecy (vision) spoke of seventy sevens. There is a time of seventy times seven years before the end of the biblical tribulation. Sixty-nine of these groups of seven years have passed and that puts us in the "Church age" which is a time when the church (God' people) are to go out and spread the news of Christ. After this unknown time then comes the tribulation.

The Age of the Church began with the conception of Jesus in the womb of Mary. The Church is the Body of Christ, so it started with Him.

God began buiding His church, which is in Spirit, when He spoke the words to Peter, " Thou art Peter, and, upon this rock, I build My church." He was not talking about building His church on Peter, but, on the way in which Peter thought, because he was the first one to claim Jesus as the Annointed One.
