i enjoyed it... one of Chris Rock's most tolerable performances. the rest of the cast was great. i thought they did well in making it new but keeping the spirit of the old one.

Do yourself a favor and go rent the original with Burt Reynolds and Eddie Albert.

Punt this piece of crap.

I saw this in the theater but own both the first and this one on DVD. I thought both were good. Remakes often go too far off the track of the first movie and this one made the kind of changes that improved it in some ways. The fact that Burt Reynolds was willing to do it tells you that he thought they did an ok job.

Adam Sandler's lost his touch somehow, and Burt Reynolds rivals only Lindsey Lohan in terms of overexposure.

The Longest Yard was a good but not great comedy. Adam Sandler was great as usual, and the supporting cast was quite good. I don't know what they could have done better in the movie, but despite the fact that it kept the audience laughing throughout of the movie, it was not as great as some other comedy movies. I thought they did a good job of working with the original, while still staying fresh, and it was nice to see that Burt Reynolds had a larger role than just a cameo in the newer version.
