Nell Carter kept a bunch of ugly girls in check and put up with, and deflected 'grouchings' from some guy who was kind of a cross between Charles Durning and some of the grouchiest reviewers here, if you can imagine that...

liked it at first. Nell Carter was okay as the woman who came to help take care of some kids whose mother died. she had attitude and was good to the kids. okay not great. got old toward the end. okay at first.

One of my all-time favorites. Loved Telma Hopkins as the fat chick's sidekick and Lara Jill Miller grew into a beautiful young lady.

nell carter could be a funny lady but the show was mediocre. joey lawrence was an adorable little boy though.
