 | edt4 (103) 11/12/2007 | If they ever need someone to play the rock-face on Mount Rushmore, he's the guy. Plays flat monotone very well. I'm for pitching a sitcom to the networks...an update of that ol' Patty Duke TV-show. While not "identical cousins", Caruso and Danny Bonaduce are cousins, and they wind up together in a bachelor pad (Caruso is "troubled"...he has bad memories of his time as a security guard in El Segundo and he really thought that intense relationship with airline stewardess Alyssa Milano was going to work out, and he still thinks about her-- often...way too often...; Bonaduce, aping real-life, has been thrown out of his house by his frustrated ex-wife...he shot up steroids and cocaine and drove their Rolls into the pool just one time too many), with a wizened Judith Licht playing the "Aunt Harriet" role. Caruso is the sensible cousin (he'll be given a scene occasionally where he totally loses his cool and rages over one of Bonaduce's more lunatic antics, in order to demonstrate his "acting range"), while Bonaduce, of course, is wild and crazy throughout (and addicted). Think of it as an updated "Midnight Cowboy" for San Fernando, with comedy thrown in. Or "Mean Streets" for the Silicon Valley set. Ok, the whole scenario is ridiculous, admittedly, but Hollywood has made millions with far sillier and more implausible plotlines, no? I mean, who thought "Bosom Buddies" was going to work, or "Different Strokes"? Michael Eisner...call me!
