You guys SUCK! You're just jealous that Rod has been one of the most flexible and viable artists for what the fast changing times of music have thrown at him!! Rod's ballads have always been his best throughout his career, if you think about it!! He even did a ballad theme through the STUPID disco years!! As far as I am concerned at this point, he has ONCE AGAIN adapted and made a name with his GREAT talents!!! I consider him this generations Frank Sinatra with his Great Amarican Songbook series!! Not even FRANK did as well as he has, financially from those songs!! And along that vein, his rendition of "What a Wonderful World" RIVALS the great Satchmo himself!!!!! I, personally have never heard a better rendition!!!

He's pulled off a few good songs but most often with a co-writer. I wouldn't say there is enough of those to warrant Hall of Fame status. Rod's gifts were as an interpreter of songs, but those skills have gone downhill dramatically in the last 30 years too.

Even the sappy stuff he makes now adheres to the rules of proper songwriting. He was obviously better in the 70's on so many levels before totally selling out.
