Jimmy Rollins is a slick fielding shortstop who at the time of writing, has played his entire career with the Philadelphia Phillies. Rollins was an NL all-star in 2001 and 2002 and is perennially among the league leaders in triples and fielding percentage. (Add picture)

Although historically a bad team, Rollins is the best shortstop in the history of the franchise. . .damn good player but will be 'great' after a few more seasons that compare to the one he's having now. . .

Jimmy Rollins has put together one of the most impressive seasons in Phillies history. By the time the season ends, he will most likely have: - hit 30 homeruns - hit 40 doubles - knocked in 100 runs - stolen 40 bases - hit .300 - hit almost 20 triples - been the best fielding shortstop in Phillies history I don't think anyone has ever done 30, 40, 40, and 100 before. I think he has to be the MVP.

I'll give him a 3.5, he's still one of the best shortstops in the National League, and rather easily the best shortstop they've had since the prime of Larry Bowa when I was young, actually, while flawed, he's certainly closer to being a more complete player for his position than Bowa ever was, so he's probably the best shortstop they've had in a very long time. Bowa was a solid fielder but had far less extra base power than Rollins. He's indeed inconsistent with the stick, and doesn't have the greatest eye at the plate, but he has some power, can really field well, is a crafty player, and steals bases.

Jimmy Rollins isn't a superstar, but he is an above average shortstop. He has been good for quite a few years now, and will probably continue to excel for a long time in Philly.
