That's one hell of a platform they've got there.

Granted that just as many stupid things have come out of the mouths of both Democrats and Republicans, showing stupidity is no respecter of either party. I could write a tome on some of the idiotic sayings of Dan Quayle. When I heard that John Edwards had said this at a campaign rally in 2004 I was mesmerized. Not only was he saying that if their party won the election that they could create miracles, but he tried to lead one to believe that if they did not win that it was the fault of the Bush administration that people like Mr. Reeve and others would not be able to get up from their wheelchairs and walk again. Of course he was referring to the so-called ban on stem cell research by President Bush. Not to even get started on this issue of the actuality being the President Bush in August of 2001 allowed for $250,000,000 of government funding to be used for research on 60 stem cell lines that were taken form embryos that had already expired. In the almost four years since that time there has not been any substantial evidence to support the use of embryonic stem cells, President Bush is now pushing for a ban on further government funding of embryonic stem cell research not on stem cell research.

If we do the work that we can do in this country, the work that we will do when John Kerry is president, people like Christopher Reeve are going to walk, get up out of that wheelchair and walk again. -- Wow. At one time, politicians only promised a chicken in every pot.
