Divebar inhabitant Attell shows the seamy side of nightlife. Crude but entertaining. Not a family show for sure.

As a confirmed insomniac, I enjoyed this show immensely; I certainly hope Dave plans more episodes in the future (he supposedly claims he doesn't intend to film any more of them, at least not in the United States, as people recognize him too readily now). He's funny and smart and easygoing albeit with an occasional nasty streak; my only complaint is that he's a bit too eager to convince the viewer that he's a "wild and crazy guy" who parties to excess at the drop of a hat (maybe he really is an alcoholic, but, as a semi-alcoholic myself, I believe a large part of it is schtick). Sort of an alcoholic's (or would-be alcoholic's) version of Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" with no food, and lots of overindulgence in booze, and a large portion of tawdry sex, and a healthy heaping of low-brow decadence (and even some normal, hard-working nocturnal people thrown in to keep things interesting, believe it or not). In other words, one of the more entertaining shows on TV.
