I have a hard time with this one. Let's say you have a son. You taught him well and did the best you could, but he grew up and made his own decisions. They weren't the best decisions. He's been on and off the street and you know he's doing drugs. You've lent him money before and he's taken it with the promise to pay you back but that doesn't happen. Is lending him money one more time really the way to show him you care? I don't think so. I think that's the easy way out because then you just hand him a 100 and send him on his way. If you really wanted to show him you care, you would check him into a rehab center and after he got out you would do whatever it took to help him find job, and check up on him. Sure, sometimes money is all a person needs, but I think that a lot of times, money is just the easy way out. Sometimes what a person needs is help, real help.

I have a few good friends that have helped me out of a tight spot, luckily I was able to return the favor.
