I'm sorry, but IV, V and VI are the guts of the genre. I, II, and III are basically non-events. The founders of the genre, realized this, and cancelled the planned VII, VIII and IX. (Of course they are getting a little long in the tooth, also.)

It changed my life, and I'll never be the same.

Insignificant, regardless of the quality of the movie itself.

Big Whoop.

Most significant in that it increased George Lucas' already massive wealth by untold millions.

Pretty big deal for the movie going public, a reason to breath for hardcore Star Wars fans. Lucas did a good job connecting the original movies with the prequels.

People who enjoy the Star Wars trilogy are naturally going to be excited and eager to see the movie that ties all 6 of the movies together. The first Star Wars came out nearly 30 years ago and even with the new generated fans from Episode I, it was still 6 more years to see the final episode. For any Star Wars fan this movie is a highlight and will be treasured for many generations.

This does not have the right to be even remotely close to the top of the list. DOWN IT GOES
