i think they should withdraw the fight as well as his troops for the nation's well being . it is not bad to accept whatever they are saying about to realize their religion instead of showing hatred against muslism and m people. This may work for not only them but for whole nation and it's people. Religion is never partioned , actually we people are fighting for nothing or say that the thing which has only one form of its universality. I would say that it won't be awkward to beg a parden from them . Because somebody will have to take a step if not them ( our muslim brother)then why do not us. We then can show our true strength of nation and nationality among all loving being in this world.
please reply me if you think i am wrong . I will love to have a reason for not accepting these ideas.

Iraq is very unstable and because of this they will not be asking us to leave any time soon. At the same time, I feel that they are far too dependent on us than they need to be and this will also prolong the agony of this unjustified war. By us not having enough troop strength to get the job done sooner, we will be there for a long time IMO.

The Iraqi government seems to be lacking in stability. The problem seems to be that there is no strong leader that has credibility throughout the country. Outside of some Shi'ite clerics and Kurdish leaders, there is no one with a wide appeal. Hence, this makes establishing a stable government all the more difficult, being that there is no central source of leadership. The reason why the insurgency rages on is because of a lack of political authority. Without strong leadership, different factions with no overwhelming support are turning to arms to gain power. The Iraqi's have the ball here, they have to establish a stable government before they can ask us to leave. Otherwise, we might end up showing ourselves to the door, a bad choice for both us and the Iraqis.

The Iraqi 'government' is our little bitch. Not the first nor the last time the USA has set up governments that are meant to act in our best interests.

This seems to be the only legitimate way; the passing of the torch. However, the day the Iraqi government asks the American military to leave well be the day when the American military tells the Iraqi government to ask them to leave. Does that make sence? In other words, although asking the American military to leave may be a welcomed day for the Iraqi government, it well not be voluntary. Rather, the question well be popped by the Iraqis but initiated by the Americans.

The United States, whether one likes it or not, has clearly invested itself into Iraq and cannot afford either finacially or otherwise to have all progress made reversed. Thus, we must remove ourselves at a time that is both reasonable and logical so that Iraq, and the world for that matter, is not left in a permanant state of chaos. Currently, there is no reason to assume that the Iraqi government will ask us to leave when they themselves don't feel prepared to take on the task. The U.S should gradually let Iraq grow and become independent on its own; as opposed to the notion that simply removing ourselves tommorrow will make the problems go away.

This is probably the most realistic one on the list.

If the national assembly asks us to leave at a time we perceive to be premature I'd have to suggest that we should leave- though it would be an imprudent decision for the new Iraqi government. This is not something I see occuring however. We also shouldn't be expected to stay and police their nation indefinitely- they need to assume that responsibility in a timely and reasonable manner.

I like this idea. When the Iraqi people think they can stand on their own, we let them.

Probably the most sensible option listed here. A continued American occupation of Iraq seriously undermines the ability of the Iraqi government to establish legitimacy with the Iraqi people. You have to believe that they'd want us out of there as soon as possible.

More or less, yes. When the Iraqis feel confident that they can control things themselves, they will ask the U.S. to pull it's troops out.

mag is certainly correct. The will of the Iraqi Government is the most important factor in the question of substantial troop withdrawal, since many of them seem to be targets of the terrorists. This will also serve as a bellwether of how generally safe they feel. The Bush Administration would benefit enormously from some clear comments from Iraqi government leaders about what (positive) role the US Military is currently playing in Iraq (as if the US and western European press would print such blasphemy) and what progress is being made on an ongoing basis. Why has the Bush Administration not thought of that by now?

Of these options, I think that the will of the Iraq government should play a major factor in determining our withdrawal. If we refuse to leave at the request of the Iraqi government, we risk damaging its credibility as a sovereign government. The Iraqi govt. is certainly not going to be too hasty in dismissing its backup, but at the same time, there's a real incentive for them to stand on their own two feet, meaning that I suspect that they will us to leave as soon as its feasible.
