Who cares about a couple of ugly rich British people?

I don't get all excited when I hear about a marriage in the Royal Family. I never did, and this really didn't thrill me. I didn't enjoy all the media hype.

I'm sorry, but Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles marrying is definitely not a newsworthy event. And for the media to give it any attention is very self-serving to those who are involved (news organizations and the Royal family). This event (and I use 'event' very loosely) was just plain STUPID!

Prince Charles once uttered the world's worst pickup line when courting Camilla: I want to be reincarnated as your tampon. How bloody awful! English tabloids had a field day with that, which was some of the first proof he was cheating on Princess Diana. Fourteen years later, Prince Charles decides to make his mistress an honest woman. So, Camilla gets her tiara and Chuck is officially a tampon. Meanwhile, the tabloids only care about who Prince William is dating.

YAWN....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.....

Who cares?

I'll simply never understand how this is considered news in America. Who pays attention to such meaningless things?

This is one of my favorites for the symbolism. The royalist cause is in an advanced state of decay, and this would be unthinkable just a few years ago. Remember Edward VIII abdicated so he could marry a divorced woman. On the humanity side, the couple, from all accounts, are happy. Finally the Princess Di worshippers are discomfitted.
