I have the model 6585. I bought it today. It is SHOCKING MY HAND when I vacuum. I will be taking it back. I also read where a boy was burned by one of these vacuums. http://community.babycenter.com/post/a1675975/major _warning_about_vacume_cleaners

I am a single gramma with kids in and out. I can't imaging a harried mother having time to clean and wash those filters and the plastic 'bagless' container on a regular basis. I create mud in my bathroom sink getting them clean, and usually the day I want to really vacuum the couch pillows etc, the suction is nil and I have to wash the filters and allow them to air dry in front of a heating vent, which may be overnight. I am aware I have to keep up with cleaning these and usually have time to do it on a regular basis, but it is a mess. I like the little rotating brush and think when the filters are clean the machine works well. Its just bothersome. But I'm stuck with it for now.

This vacuum cleaner barely has any suction. I held the hose over a piece of cat food to prove myself that it was not my imagination and it did not even lift the morcel from the ground. It picks up a little if you go over your path slow and many times, still leaving much behind. Oh, and the most lovely feature is that each time you stop the machine in it's upright position it leaves this huge pile of dirt for you. This machine is the second worst vacuum I have ever owned.

I recently purchased the Bissell Powerforce Vacuum Cleaner. This vacuum cleaner is very easy to assemble and operate the first time. Although the vacuum is hard to push forward at times, it is lightweight (about 17 pounds) so it's easy to lift and maneuver. The Bissell Powerforce has plenty of suction power with its 12 amp motor and it leaves my carpets feeling and looking clean.

This vacuum is a PIECE OF CRAP. I have read the reviews and I am not the only one with problems. I don't have animals and people take their shoes off at the door. I don't have a lot of dirt or hair in my carpet, so that is not the cause of my ANGER. After using the vacuum for five minutes, it turned off and wouldn't turn back on. No tripped breakers power cord was fine, outlet was just fine. Charged my cell right after the vacuum quit. Don't waste your money and read all reviews first.

Just bought this one tonight after my Dirt Devil blew up on me. Dirt Devil was 7 years old but was a POS from the first day I used it but I'm too stubborn to buy a new one til it went belly up. I have 2 indoor dogs that shed a lot, plus I used to use carpet fresh/baking soda to control odors but haven't used any in about 3 months because DD didn't do a good job of picking it up. Bissell assembled in less than 5 minutes with a flat tip screwdriver. Plugged it in & tested it on a 10 sq ft area of carpet & already filled up the cup with dog hair & old carpet fresh (after having just vacuumed a few days ago & at least 2 dozen vacuum sessions since I last sprinkled it...). Yeah, the filters have to be washed often but to me it's worth it because I KNOW the vac is working & getting all that crap up off the floors. Unless you're a complete moron, emptying the dirt cup is a breeze & not at all an inconvenience. I have a garbage bag on the back patio & just dump everything in there then trash it when I'm done. Who actually empties all that filth straight into the kitchen garbage can anyway??? Filters are easy to access, just unscrew the pieces, rinse them off in the sink & let them dry. There is a thicker foam filter around one of the HEPA filters & just from one use I can tell it will greatly extend the life of the more expensive HEPA. Walmart had this in my area for $49 & some change out the door. Definitely a great deal. Lightweight...haven't tried the hose attachment yet but the edger gets up so close to the baseboards that I havn't had to use it. Kudos to Bissell for a great, affordable product.

We vacuumed 2 rooms(dogs are shedding), we hate our old unit. Shedding will only get worse, so we decided to get a new one. Re-did the 2 rooms with the new unit, and filled the dirt container with dog hair that was not picked up by the old one!! $50 at Walmart!!

I love this vacuum! It picks up pet hair (I have a dog and a cat) that my other much more expensive vacuum didn't. I bought it because of the price - $49.99 and because I already own a Bissell carpet cleaner (which is excellent). Its been my experience that bagless vacuum cleaners don't work as well as the bagged. It's lightweight, very easy to put together, and I don't experience the "hard to roll" problems that others have commented on. My only complaint is that I wish the handle was just a few inches longer. I'm 5'6" and found the handle just a bit short.

I needed a new vacuum, my old one was about 8 years old (Eureka). I had a flea problem and was vacuuming every 2 days as advised by Terminix (yes I was changing the bags after each use outside). I wanted a bagless, light weight vacuum and was not willing to pay over $200. I bought the Bissel Power Force Bagless at Wall Mart for $50. I couldn't believe the suction!! I thought my rugs were clean after vacuuming every other day. What a shock when I used the Bissel. I had no idea my 2 year old rug was that dirty. I would recommend. So what if you have to clean the filters. I would however recommend that you do not use the vacuum attachment on your cat (a little too much suction!!) No more fleas.

After reading some of your comments, I came to a conclusion that I would go out and buy this. It wasn't that expensive; I'm on a budget. So I go to walmart yesterday and bought this vacuum, went home assembled the pieces, screwed the handle, made sure the filter was locked and plugged it in. I thought it was okay for the price, the burning smell that came from it. You could adjust the level from low to high and floor. I like it, it does the job for me. I have an aussie and she could shed on the regular so that's why i decided to buy this, thinking it would be a cinch to clean up. I was right it is a cinch to clean up, the only thing i didn't like about this was that the filter is too small i guess i probably had a lot of hair on the carpet, but for me to finish the living room I had to keep emptying the tray. I only have a one bedroom apartment. The vacuum is good for it's money though I think. It does the job, and you could really feel the vibration from the brushes beating on the carpet.

Just bought this vacuum and couldn't believe how much dirt it picked up. Couldn't believe how much carpet fresh was left in carpet. This is a good vacuum cleaner for the price. Great deal.

This unit is the best value for your money. It sells at Wal Mart for under sixty five dollars, and it is made better than the original cleanview model. The foam upper filter needs to be cleaned periodically. I usually take the filter outside on the porch and clap it in my hands. My brother tried out our 6594 Bissell after purchacing a Eureka. He took the Eureka back to the store the same day! I guess i heard the Bissell works better than his central vaccum system! UPDATE: I would like to tell people to also clean the foam filter on the bottom of the dirt cup. I do the same cleaning method as the upper foam filter. Just take it outside and clap it in my hands. If the vaccum makes a farting noise, more than likely the foam filters need cleaning.

I came here yesterday and read the reviews on this vacuum and went to wal-mart and bought one. I LOVE THIS VACUUM! I have a dog who sheds non stop and a new carpet that is nice and fuzzy. I've gone through two vacuums that both got clogged. This one picked up so much! I didn't know I had that much dirt on my carpet. If you're looking for a great vacuum this is it. I got mine at walmart for $59.00. Thank you everyone for your reviews.

Bought this one today,(7/31/05) under 60 bucks. Don't let price fool you, this really IS a great vacuum. Can't believe how quiet after using up two other uprights recently (which my two Labrador dogs laughed at). When I first tried this one on the carpet you could clearly see a difference, so much so that I am actually taking the time to write this review for it! Impressive performance.
