Always liked Charles Bronson even his early t.v. work was good. Always the tough guy he did it better than almost anyone else. Lee Marvin did the same thing with a bit more range.

At his peak, he was the highest paid actor in Hollywood, and along with Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood, was the top action actor of his day. No actor ever oozed masculinity quite like Bronson. This was a man's man. His work covered every genre in film. My favorite Bronson movie is Hard Times, a gritty depression era movie, about a pick up fighter. He was never more Bronsonish than in this movie. The man is a legend.

One of my favorite all time actors. A 'tough guy' actor very much in the same likeness as John Wayne. I'm especially a huge Death Wish fan -the Death Wish movies are some of the most 'awesomely-bad' movies ever produced. Much like John Wayne, Bronson (a.k.a., Charles Buchinsky) started out in the black and white era and as a very mediocre, at best, actor. By the '70s in films such as "The Mechanic" and "Chato's Land," he really started to find his niche and his personality emerged to the point that we all remember him as. It's pretty cool that during the Death Wish era (mid '70s to early '90s) he was in his 60s and 70s and just as fit and tough physically and mentally as actors only half or a third his age. Though the actual roles he played were invariably tailored to fit his tough-man personality, his presence was everything and quite often turned a mediocre movie into a good one -simply because he was the main character.

Charles Bronson could have got a higher rating if his roles were more diversified. But never saw any flexiability in his emotions on screen. Just to tough all the time. It might have been the character roles more than the man. I could not give him higher than a 2.8. I did like him alot in Once Upon A Time In The West as Harmonica.

Charles Bronson really does it for me, He said in an interview that he was just giving the people what they wanted, and I thought, that's all that matters to me. Some of my favorites are(not necessarily in order) Mr. Majestyk, C'era una volta il Wes, St Ives, From Noon Till Three, Passager de la pluie, Le, Hard Times,an episode of Twilight Zone he did called Two, and the list goes on and on. Thanks for reading,Greg
