At a halloween party I saw a girl with a huge lump in her chest as if she had choked on something. After being introduced to her I said "wow that looks really cool, how'd you do that?" and she got mad and said it was something she was born with and to deal with it. I felt aweful but looking back, she was not in costume like everyone else so I was only left to assume that was what she was dressed up as.

It had to do with a cod piece and a bottle of Jack during a St. Paddy's Day Parade. The parole officer said I shouldn't talk about it in public.

In 2000, I briefly considered voting for Al Gore. My thinking was that he had a lot of experience as I high-level office holder.

Ride my Big Wheel backwards down a driveway into the road when I was about 6 or 7. The ONLY time ever in my life to get switched. And, I never did it again! ^_^

Pulled the rearview mirror button off my mothers windshield using a pair of visegrips. I thought it was taped on with double sided tape. It was glued on the windshield instead. I took a big chunk out of it.

In my teens,as a new driver,I once pulled out of a parking lot and onto a highway going the wrong way.The worst part was,the guy behind me blew his horn at me to warn me but I thought he was rushing me to pull out-so I gave him the finger.Luckily, there was a grass divider, and I was able to get on the proper side without anyone getting hurt.It was a great lesson in humility.

I am a lot older than most of you posters. I have a lifetime of regretful things, but I only now have time, at leisure, to consider how bad they were. I remember things 50 years ago that I wish I had not done. That is life!

In my teens when they used to have scratch bus passes. I used to cut the old un-used numbers out and stick it on the new ones. I didn't care if I got caught and I had some damn nerve. I wouldn't even dream of doing that today because thats just plain stupid.

This one act of lunacy almost cost me a visit to the hospice,I was in my teens strong, fit, and independent...?I thought it was time to assert my authority and position in the house, mark out my turf,I figured to build a foundation for my dais I must first establish commerce and compromise with my father who I thought was at the autumn of his reign and I was at the dawn of mine...so one day I waited patiently for the moment of truth where I would tell him with great valiancy tomind his own buisness!...let me give you a brief description of my parents,my mother is a strong, devout catholic with great piety and mildness I might add,my father is a tough,no-nonsense,bar/pub fighter,as a doorman was sent by his agency to bikey-functions and gang-bars,also pacific islander socials(western samoan)to work, basically jobs the other bouncers did not want or if they could get a stand-in they would(my father),who is respected in that circuit...back to the story, after my short act of defiance my father stared at me with disbelief as to ask me with his eyes did you say what I thought you said,to which I proudly responded with a gesture of swelling my chest,as if to saythats right old manso between my father getting up from his chair and me been woken up by my mother several hours later, little is known about how my face came to resemble that of the elephant man?

Stupidest?? as in the most stupid, of all the stupid things I have done? LOL I am thinking that if I named my stupidest, then it would quickly be overpowered by the stupidity of posting it here;)

Ending up in intensive care after a weekend bender that included enough booze and drugs to kill a small farm animal- not much different than many others during my 20s but enough to cascade me over the edge into death defying dance with the grim reaper. There's nothing worse than having a family member you love check you out of a hospital after pulling your best Billy Idol impersonation. So was the afflatus that lead me to a life of sobriety.

Voted for Clinton?... Just kidding...sort of. Anyway, there are so many things to choose from, and such a variety of topics, it's hard to pick. I'll just pick something generic, and something I've done more than I should, and say that I have trusted people I know I damn well shouldn't trust.

Married a woman I did not love, the first time around. I always had to learn things the hard way.

I'll never tell anyone. It's something I'm very sorry for and ashamed of. I hope some day I'll be able to forgive myself. Until then I try not to think about it. Fortunately, it was a long time ago so I rarely think about. Gee, thanks alot for reminding me. LOL

I've done many stupid things in my life and I'm not too proud of them. I'll give you a few. 1) Back in 1985, I got into a fistfight with a student in Catholic school. 2) Two years ago, I got into a shouting match with NBA star Tracy McGrady at Madison Square Garden. 3) Taunted a nun this past February when I was drunk. 4) Back in 1988, I flipped off and cursed my teacher after she gave me a detention slip. ... I'm sorry that it ever happened. But I'm only human.

I hope I don't offend anybody on here, because the reason I really like this list is that nobody is arguing on it, but I would have to say the stupidest thing that I ever did was move South. It's not because the South is terrible and I don't think that ALL Southern people are rednecks or anything, it just wasn't for me. I missed having 4 seasons, I missed the family orientedness and community feel of the city that I was born (I know the small towns and rural south is family oriented, but the cities ARE NOT) and most of all, I missed my family, my wife missed her family, and it was too hot down there. I thought going to a place where everything; the houses, malls, schools, shopping centers, parks, everything was brand new, would be great. But it turned out to be BORING. I'm just glad that I didn't own a house down there because they are very hard to sell, everyone wants to build.

The list is too long to write here, suffice it to say I have done my share of stupid things, maybe even above the norm.

In 1982, I was working for a great man who wanted nothing more than to mentor me, and assure my (and his) long-term financial and professional success. For a $6,000 pay increase, which he could not match, I left his employ and went to work for another company in the same field. I've more than lost that same $6,000 fifteen times over. He died last August, about a month after the last time (little did I know) he and I had lunch together. Some regrets haunt you for a long time. If I'd only known then what I know now . . .
