A magnificent line that has become part of the language. I used to here people doing it all the time when I worked in politics and advertising.

A great line in the context of the movie, it suggests power, influence and hints at a threat.  It sums up the subtlety in the complex dealings of the mafia.  Prior to the Godfather, depictions of the underworld were summed up by acts of brute force with no attention paid to the politics and traditions that ruled their life.  The line became hugely popular in its time in every day languge.  It would have been pretty tiring to be a lawyer in the mid 70's and have to here it over and over and over.

marlon brando's voice when he spoke this line is so calm and sinister. you know this man is in charge and you want to be on his good side. he shows a very real human side to a ruthless businessman.

Definately up there with 'I coulda been a contender..

I can do the Marlon Brando Godfather impersonation verbatim. And this line MAKES the film. That and It's Not Personal, It's Business.

One of the best lines to come out of Hollywood. It changed the way people negotiate, forever! great quote and great Movie!
