The rating isn`t so much for the line as the monologue that follows it. Which is absoloutely captivating to watch and listen to, and you sometimes find yourself agreeing to. The monologue was performed 20-30 times during shooting to get the background and reaction shots, and was done at full strength each time by Nicholson.

This line would have to be the one that has become most deeply embedded in the modern day vernacular. I hear it all the itme and not in reference to the movie but in the context of a discussion about almost any subject. "Here's looking at you" and "Frankly I don't give a damn" may be more iconic lines, but this one seems to have legs in the information age.

Probably one of the greatest scenes ever- topped off by this line. Jack played this part perfectly.

The wall speech is a sick, twisted and accurate representation of what my good jarheads do. So just say thank you or grab a weapon and stand a post.

Col. Jessup's Who do you want guarding that wall solioquoy ranks as one of my all-time favorite. I would have loved to have been in the courtroom and yell, Yes, we want Weinstein guarding that wall.
