The Japanese were primarily a West Coast group. They are hardworking and great achievers, an asset to society.

Displaced unfairly in WW2, but it didn't hold them back. Not a lot of whining coming from the Japanese-American Population.

Highly successful socioeconomically in America. Part of the larger Asian model-minority. Japanese are here in lower numbers than Chinese and Koreans, due, in part to the small size of their country AND the high standard of living in Japan which is, essentially, the economic version of the U.S. in the Far East.

Arguably the best ethnic/cultural group in the USA. It is impressive how the Japanese have taken their work ethic and cultural ideals and managed to encorporate it into American society and prosper by it. Japanese are an insular group primarily based on the West Coast. Like Chinese they have rather quietly assimilated into American culture all the while facing racism and other obstacles non-caucasian groups have had to face. In spite of that, Japanese have taken advantage of what America has had to offer and used that to proper. They have a solid middle class and there are more than few who are wealthy and successful. Japanese are just now beginning to encorporate themselves more into mainstream American Life. Their influences are slowing coming in , but are distinctive: Sushi and their cuisine are becoming acceptable, Karoeke is a popular aspect of American Life, their cars are very impressive and their Baseball sports heroes are actively involved in the Sport.
