These guys were great. I catch some of their flicks from time to time. The 'Who Is On First' is a classic. Then there is the, "Hey Abbott!"

The fabled "Who's on First" routine alone should be worth five stars.
Consider the rest of the package and these guys are a strong contender for the top spot. I've provided a link below.

Exquisite innocence that lost out eventually to post-war demands of topicality on TV.

I have to give them a five, for sentimental reasons if nothing else. every Sunday when I was a kid, a local station ran classic comedies. It seemed like Abbott and Costello were run more often than the others. I would watch with a friend of mine, and we liked them so much we did a Abbott and Costello skit for a talent show at school. Of course, who could for get the Who's on First routine. Still funny today, even though I've heard it thousands of times.

Kept me in stitches as a kid.My favorite was the one where they met the Wolfman,Frankenstein and a host of famous monsters.

Who's on first? is all you really need to say when it came to Abbott & Costello.

I used to look forward to their shows back in the 70s, when it seemed to be a popular Saturday afternoon show. Always entertaining and humourous. Don't see them on anymore.

The humor holds up and we can still laugh at some good clean fun.

At their best, they were very funny, and the best of their humor still holds up very well today. Apparently, Costello wasn't the nicest guy around (the father of one of my childhood friends who knew Costello from Paterson had nothing but bad things to say about him personally) but that was never apparent on-screen. Abbott was the perfect, consummate straight-man. The problem was that their movies, with one or 2 notable exceptions, were badly done, with 80% devoted to some dull-as-dishwater romance and another 5% devoted to some musical medley, invariably performed by the Andrews Sisters. I preferred the TV-sitcom they had for a couple of years, which could be screamingly funny at times and often was surreal. Loved Sid Fields, Hillary Brooke, and even Mike the Cop. If you insist on viewing one of their films A and C Meet Frankenstein is my personal favorite.
